An iso file is the same as a .img file which if you think of a zipped up file thats basically what it is you can burn these files using a free program like imgburn.

As far as vista comparing to Windows 7 is basically think of your vista turbo charged or on steroids because thats how much quicker w7 is compared to vista.

I class vista as the old win me and w7 to xp :)

Basically you download it, burn it to a DVD-R, then install it from there.

Windows 7 is necessary in my opinion. Yeah, it would be nice if it were released as a Service Pack to Vista. However, many people have bad opinions of Vista based on early problems (i.e. driver issues, UAC, etc.). Some people may base their opinions of Vista off of what "other people" have said about it or what the media says and they haven't even tried Vista for themselves.

So Microsoft is in need of a new product that will give Windows XP users (and Vista users) a compelling reason to upgrade. After all, Microsoft isn't making any money if people are still using XP.

I am definitely buying Windows 7. The new taskbar and windows management features alone are enough to make me want to upgrade.
