Because Microsoft Office is the king of the heap, not to be duplicated, and only feebly imitated by all comers. The only way they can pull a few disgruntled people from PC arena is to offer a stripped down Office so people can use their PC produced MSO docs on the Mac.

if mac is so great why cant they make their own office power point etc, they have to pay microsoft to make it for them that is pathetic - LOL I love that part ::D
