Hello,
Are you interested in Linux? Do you want to try it out? Are you scared of destroying your computer? No worries, this post should have you using Linux in no time.
*Note Wubi only installs Ubuntu Linux
1. What is Wubi?
Wubi is a program that lets you install Linux without any CDs, partitioning hardrives, uninstalling Windows or any other hassle of installing Linux. It will run with Windows, so it will give you a choice on computer boot-up if you want Linux or Ubuntu.
Pros: -Will uninstall like any other program in windows
-Very easy to install
-Provides you with choice at boot-up
-Lets you install Linux without any CDs, partitioning hardrives, uninstalling Windows or any other hassle of installing Linux.
Cons: -Will run a little slower than if installed with CD.
-No hibernation feature
2. Downloading
Wubi can be downloaded at: http://wubi-installer.org/index.php, just click the download now button and it will download.
3. Running
Start Wubi, and you should have something that looks like this:

Then this is where you choose which drive you would like to save it on, how the installation should be, for desktop environment, choose Ubuntu, and choose your language Username and Password, and click Install.
4. It will take a while for it to finish installation, so feel free to go grab a coffee, and by the time you come, it should be done. After it is done, something that looks like this should come up:

5. Starting Linux
Click reboot now, and click on Finish. Your computer should restart, and you would see Ubuntu doing some housekeeping in the beginning, then it should load you up! If you want to boot into Windows again, just restart your computer, and choose Windows when it asks you for your choice of OS.
6. Uninstalling
Did you not like it? It’s ok, even though I suggest giving this OS some time, if you did not like it, you can simply uninstall it by booting into Windows, going to control panel, uninstall Programs, then find Ubuntu, and click uninstall at the top. Wait for it, and you are done.
This very simple way of having a dual-booting computer is very easy. I do suggest using it if you are interested in Ubuntu at all. Also, do you know an easier way to install Linux, or do you just want to give your opinion? Simply leave me a comment below, or email me at bodda_a@hotmail.com.
