Wonder Woman Wows at WonderCon

Caught the latest DC animated flick -- Wonder Woman -- at WonderCon on Friday night. Awesome. Absolutely, positively the best of the DC bunch thus far, and that says a lot because the first three were pretty damn good. marvel should take note -- this is how you make an animated super hero flick. Brutal violence, hilarious humor, great action, spot-on characters. I couldn't have dug it more.

The post-movie panel was pretty cool. Bruce Timm thrilled the Timmiverse with his dry sense of humor, and Lauren Montgomery (she directed the movie) was not only smart and funny, but cute, too. The script was so good, somebody at Warner Bros should hand over a live-action film to Michael Jelenic -- it'd be way better than some of the super hero junk that hits the big screens (re: Superman Returns).

Stunning beauty Virginia Madsen made an appearance at the panel and showed her Amazonian aggression (and intelligence) by verbally pummeling some idiot from the audience who tried to make some ridiculous point with a pointless question. Now that was fun.

The evening ended with an advance look at the next DC animated move -- Green Lantern. Looked cool. I'd imagine we'll see the whole flick at Comic-Con in San Diego and, trust me, it's way better seeing these movies for the first time in-person with 3,000 of your fellow geeks than it is watching alone on DVD. You get the thrill of reveling in the glory of the film with a huge crowd, then you can watch in greater detail at home later.
