I have to say, I think Apple hit a “home run” with this week’s iPhone 3.0 event. They presented most of the features that I (and many others) have been wanting for, for a long time, these features include: MMS, Cut/Copy/Paste, Better YouTube Management, Spotlight and Peer to Peer Gaming - just to name a few.

So what did Apple not include in 3.0 that I wanted?

Proper Application Management / Home Screen Customization

While spotlight will greatly help in managing your applications, I would have liked to see Apple offer “stacks” as in having an icon you would “touch” to bring up another home screen that has related applications (like social networking applications). I would also like to be able to add more icons to the dock, and have customized backgrounds on the home screen.

With these few things aside, I was very please with Apple’s 100 + additions to the iPhone OS with 3.0. What do you think was missing from iPhone 3.0?

If iPhone users were to get background applications that would decrease battery life as noted in the keynote available on iTunes, but the one item missing is the flash and we would have to wait on new hardware to obtain a video camera.

How about not jacking the price up over 400 dollars out the door. I still can't get over this, The touch is 227 and the out the door price for the same thing with a phone attached to it is 650 dollars. These companies try to convince us that the cost of making a handset is very high and someone along the line takes a loss but it has never been more apparent that these people are trying to penalize Americans for not being locked into a long term and ultimately expensive contract. I have sold phones for a long time (excluding my time in the Navy) and once again I am doing the same $%^&*ing people over all over again. I remember buying the Sanyo 5000, one of if not the first color screen phones for less then 200 dollars.

I'm going to be original (like Hanna Burrows) and say flash. Plus Wireless iTunes syncing would be sweet. Maybe in iPhone OS 4.0?
Also, new type of springboard... The current is too limiting!

well you can get flash, it's quite simple actually and you don't need to jailbreak it or something like that.. But what I really want is programs running in the background, and some sort of encryption that will prevent the swedish government from spying on me.. and COPY & PASTE!!! the did it perfectly with the omnia, now do it with the iphone!

Yes flash would be nice but I enjoy using my iPhone for more than an hour at a time.
