I'm an linux user for over 5 years now and I used and tried all kind of different distro's.
The ones I liked the most were Vectorlinux, Mandriva , Ubuntu and Fedora.
Right now I'm using Fedora 10 and I really like it. I installed it in dualboot on my mac.
What cliffystones says about wireless is true but it's getting better !.

I practically live on Distrowatch. I've tried many distros, and I used PCLOS for quite a while before swithcing a few months ago to Zenwalk.

I have become quite partial to the Xfce desktop (as opposed to Gnome and KDE). I tried to find a distro that had a clean interface, worked with my hardware and did what I needed it to do. Zenwalk fit the bill perfectly. It even configured easily with my self-installed built in wireless card on my laptop.

My only peeve with Linux right now is wireless card compatibility. It's still a crap-shoot about half the time, but it's getting better. While I'm no programmer myself so I maybe should not Monday morning quarterback, I'll add this request. To you folks who spend time programming stuff like 3-D desktop effects ( which I find utterly useless), I do wish that you could find it in your hearts to take a break on all of the "eye candy" and build some hardware drivers for stuff like wireless cards and touch screens (another headache) that can be configured in graphic mode.
