Okay, someone has just pointed out to me I have made the biggest mistake. I don't host my own server. I use Wordpress.com. So I think that will be the next step for me and my blog/site. But I am unsure on a couple of things.

1. Will it be easy like it is now to add posts and pages, just one click?
2. What will the benefits be?
3. Do I really need self hosting? Eg. Wordpress.org.
4. Will I still keep my domain?

Well that sorts that out now for my hardware. I am thinking of posting video's on youtube and linking them back to here and my blog/site. so my speedy little dual core will have to be swapped with a quad core, I am thinking Q9650 so I can encode much faster and I gain some sweet bragging rights.

Well thats about it for now,

James Hill

that's true, hostgator is really good. not the cheapest, but if you can afford it, one of the best.

and some hosts that you sign up for should support automatic installation (godaddy, hostgator). I've never tried them, but I'm hoping to host on hostgator soon - apparently they are very good.

James, I recently switched my host to Siteground, at this link.

Right now the only thing on my site is my Wordpress Blog.

I have more flexibility using the Wordpress software on my own site... and SiteGround will install the software for you.

Yes, you can keep your own domain.

I'm handling the installation, so you won't have to upload anything ;)

No. Just upload Wordpress via ftp. You need an FTP client for that. Mac: Cyberduck; Windows:SmartFTP/FileZilla

yeah okay then sounds good. But will I have to program?

Oh, another thing you can do: You can host more than one blog. You can also have other type of sites hosted there.
