Download Our Windows 7 Tips!

Ok guys I'm in desperate need of assistance. I have Windows Vista Home Premium, and I have been very happy with it. Everything seemed to be working fine and then about a month ago I purchased Cakewalk Music Creator 4. I registered the software, received my e-mail with my registration code, and went in to enter it. Cue the problems. So in the bar where the code goes it says "Not Logged In As Administrator." So my initial thought was, "ok go to the control panel and make sure everything is cool." So I did, even though I am the only account and am an administrator. So I lived out my 30 day trial period and can now not use the software because I can't enter the darn code. So I have been ok at the most with the inability to use my software. However, now I have been pushed to the end. My iTunes alert came up saying an update was available. So as always I installed the update and gets near being done and says that certain tasks cannot be completed because I am not logged on as an administrator. So guys if any of you have had this problem or know how to fix it please tell because I need my music and making my own wouldn't be that bad either.

Thanks,
Will

yeah that feature is really kinda bothersome don't you think ?
it's probably there to keep malware from running with admin priv
But I saw a hack somewhere on the net that allows to get an account around that feature
somewhere in group policy editor or something or other

In order to correctly install something on Vista from and EXE type of file you should Right Mouse click and then select "Run As Administrator". Even though you are in the Administrator's Group Vista makes everyone (even the Adminsitrator ID itself) run as a User.

You may have to call or send an Email to the Support Desk of Cakewalk Music Creator.

I just went to your software's manufacturer's web site & found this in the FAQ:

10) I have installed SONAR on Windows Vista. When I try to enter my Registration Code, the field says “Not Logged In As Administrator”.

You will need to manually launch the program as an administrator. This is done by right-clicking on either the Desktop shortcut or the program executable and selecting “Run As Administrator”. You will then be able to enter your Registration Code.
