Janis Krums was on a ferry in the Hudson River when a jet landed on that New York City waterway. As the captain steered his boat to the floating plane, that soon had passengers standing on its wings and getting in lifeboats, Krums snapped a picture with his iPhone and twittered what was happening.
"There's a plane in the Hudson. I'm on the ferry going to pick up the people. Crazy," Janis twittered his way into history on Jan. 15 at 3:36 PM.

All this happened on my first day on twitter, which made for my own interesting inaugural. But the greatest piece of information I have to offer is that no one from the plane was killed or even badly hurt, thanks to incredibly cool heads and quick thinking from the pilots and crew of the plane and lifesaving assists from ferry and boat captains!
Check out a couple interviews with Janis, who through a day of almost constant media attention handled himself like a pro.
