TVTorrents.com down but not out.

www.tvtorrents.com is down at the moment due to a dns error. If your need to get onto the site, the following will help.

Go to C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc and open your hosts file with notepad.

(or whichever directory your hosts file is in)

Then add the following:

87.96.131.182 www.tvtorrents.com
87.96.131.182 1.tracker.tvtorrents.com
87.96.131.182 torrent.tvtorrents.com
87.96.131.182 static.tvtorrents.com
87.96.131.156 irc.tvtorrents.com
87.96.131.156 2.tracker.tvtorrents.com
87.96.131.199 vip.tvtorrents.com
87.96.131.199 online.tvtorrents.com

Tab over between the ip and the domain name.

Then Surf TVTorrents.com as per usual.

Like Nick, I feared the demise of one of my two favourite tracker sites (the other being TheBox.bz, which lists only TV programmes from the UK). Among the so-called info I had gleaned from the Net regarding the unavailabilty of tvtorrens.com was a four- or five-year-old rumour involving the CIA (!) posted yesterday on Yahoo! Answers.

The workaround you described effectively allowed me to log in and take care of business.
