Transfering PROGRAMS From One PC to Another?

Hey guys, I just bought a new HP desktop PC and am currently using an HP laptop PC. I know how easy it is to copy my files from this computer to the new one, however, is there a way to copy all of the PROGRAMS, not files, to the new one while still having them on the old laptop? I really don't want to have to go back to all of the websites and pull out all of the installation CDs again while still having to reconfigure all of the settings back to the way I like it for the programs. By the way, I am currently running Windows 7 as my OS and the new computer is running Vista. Thanks.
