When I first started "tweeting", I wanted as many followers as possible so, I started following people by the hundreds. It worked yes 80% of the people I followed, followed me back. The problem was that they didn't follow me for my content, they followed me because I followed them. The way I use twitter is so my followers stay in touch with my latest blog posts, now when you think about it logically the people that ended up following (the majority) didn't click my twitter links to blog posts because they weren't interested in what I had to say. These people are "untargeted" tweeters.
It made it really hard to see who was following me for my content and who was there because I followed them. So what I done is unfollowed all the people I had followed (except a few selected tweeters) and now I am hoping the majority that followed me because off me following them will unfollow me. Hopefully this leaves the people interested in what I have to say.

I totally agree with you about the twitter thing and I guess it goes the same for me on geeks. I love to have new followers but I can't just follow someone bc they follow me. There has to be some sort of communication with them or something going. I think on geeks...I add new people in the hopes of getting to know them and talk to them. I just love meeting new people. If they aren't interested then there isnt much I can do about it....BUT back to twitter.. :) I can only follow about 100 or so before I get overwhelmed :) haha

its the story of the world, just like here on geeks most people request u because your there and u never hear from them again so you become just a number. Something of the norm. U later recognize those who are true geeks and those who are wannabee geeks.
