Greetings!
It's 1:21 AM on the east coast and I just had a wonderful night with my friend Steph. She took me to see an interesting play at the Yale theater called '
The Full Monty'. Before today, I used to despise theatrics and musicals with such a passion. For some reason, I found them to be boring and uneventful. However, when my friend asked me if I wanted to go with her to see this play, I decided to put all my notions behind me and watch it with an open mind. To my surprise, I really liked it. Aside from it being a clearly feminist tilted screen play, I really enjoyed it. I think my loathing of theater came from seeing '
Rent' in theater. My view of theater has changed from actually going to a venue and seeing the actors play their roles. What really caught my ear was how astounding the actors' voices were.
Seeing something live created this different dimension for me. We have grown so acustomed to our computer and television screens that we forget the real art of acting. Detach yourself from technology, enjoy the enviornment and experience of live theatrics! It's great to be reminded of the true connection we as humans have with eachother without the use of technology.
