Download Our Windows 7 Tips!

Tonight I got antsy and thought I'd change it up a little. My girlfriend and I were sitting enjoying a movie, and I thought "HEY! why don't we move the desk!" As random as this may sound, let me break it down.

Our set up was/is very nice. The only bad thing was that our main computer, aptly named EEVIAC, was being used as a home theater PC. As it's hooked up to our TV. The thing is a power house, and handles all our movies and music like a champ. The only problem was that being students we need a lot of other general computer needs, such as word processing and such. Using EEVIAC on the couch for general needs started out fun, but quickly became vary unergonomic and annoying. So by moving the desk closer to the media area we are now able to have the best of both worlds.

Before we had the desk on the other side of the room, and we used my old slow laptop for our general needs. It always bothered me because we had EEVIAC across the room and we didn't use it for everything we wanted. Now it's as simple as switching monitors or using extended desktop. I love it!!

Why we didn't think of this before evades me, but I'm happy we finally did. It's already proving beneficial. Also the space where the desk used to be looks dumb because we moved the table that used to be where the desk is now where the desk was. They don't fill the void quite as well. Oh well, I'm much happier with this.

You can look at my setup pictures in my profile to get a better idea of what all this means.

Thanks for reading!
