Drum roll... Ghost,Yes it is called Ghost OS its gearing up to launch this Tuesday.
And, I know you're asking whats so special about this OS. Well... this OS has the ability to be accessed all around the WORLD.Ghost, short for Global Hosted Operating System, was founded in 2006 by Zvi Schreiber, whose goal was to create the Virtual Computer that works with third-party Web applications like Google Docs, Zoho, and Flickr and joins them together into one online service and can be accessed from any computer with the Internet. Users can also access their personal desktop, files and applications. Ghost finished the development of its Web-based operating system that uses "cloud computing" to let users access their desktop and data from any computer worldwide. Users can get an extra 10GB when they use the promotion code "launch."

To call this service an OS (Operating System) is a bit misleading. An OS is what is used by a computer to control access to the CPU, RAM, and other peripherals. Ghost is basically an internet service to provide you a "desktop" and software/file storage services based on Cloud Computing. Notice that you can access it from "any computer" with a browser...any computer that you use the browser is running an OS. The only way one could call Ghost an OS is if one could access it from a terminal.

I doubt that I will be giving it a try. I'm just not all that solid with the concept of Cloud Computing and it's purported security in the first place.

I'm trying it right now. I like that you can create folders and upload files and then share them with others that you choose.

Hey Bob, thanks. Just loaded it and will play with it, Been looking for something like this, Work email is deleted in 60 days and have to send the stuff i want to keep somewhere else, Also was looking to share files with friends, some rather larger than I could share other wise. Sure the security might be a question. but seams a place to manage and keep it all in one place. I'll try it out and see if it works for me

Yeah.. What's it useful for? Other than keeping you stuff on another place you can't tell if it's secure instead of having it on a memory stick with you... or your laptop.. or whatever the geek device.

I'm still wondering what you can actually DO with it. Compatibility? Doubtful.

New=Exciting! Sorry to disagree with the majority. Nothing outweighs progress! I do not know if the new OS will appeal to me but it may inspire further advancement. I love switching from one OS to another. It prevents things from becoming stagnant.

I don't think that this is exciting at all. I haven't heard one bit of this new "Ghost" OS. I'll read a review on it, when it comes out, but that's it.
