I have a million and one dreams and goals. Seemingly just when things are starting to settle down so I can work on them something happens to way lay me and keep me from fulfilling those needs and dreams. As I mentioned in that last little blog in November my little kitty passed away well I still celebrated Thanksgiving with my family and then we went away that weekend to a Science Fiction Convention. I was sad but I did enjoy it and I got to see Wil Wheaton in person again which was pretty nice.

When I arrived home I got an email from someone important to me but I was not gonna have time to reply as I was in the midst of my last two weeks of classes. HA so I thought. That Monday December 1, 2008 I took a step off the curb to cross the street to catch a bus and my right foot rolled in a most unfortunate way. I thought at first I just twisted my ankle as I am prone to do that occasionally. As most sprains really hurt when you first do them I tried to walk it off and the bus came so I got on it. I was sitting on the bus going wow this is really hurting and its not improving in fact its getting worse. I kept looking at my ankle expecting it to swell up to go with the pain. There was no swelling..... What in the world? So I got to my stop and literally hobbled across the street and collapsed onto some wet grass which at that point I really did not care. I took off my shoe and sock and took one look at an extremely wrong looking bump on the outside of my right food. *BLEEP* I broke it. So I called one of my roomies and had them come get me so I could drop my stuff off at home and shoot some emails out to my instructors for my classes. Then off to the Emergency Room I went. Weeeee! They were extremely accommodating and took me in fairly quickly and they confirmed with x-rays that my right 5th metatarsal was indeed broken. OUCH!

A very nice looking orderly then came and put my foot in a splint/cast. He was very sweet. Then they gave me a prescription for some nice pain killers and I was told to stay off my foot and to see a doctor in a week. Well I could not get an appointment til two weeks. I could barely get from my room to the bathroom let alone going anywhere else. It just did not happen. My math teacher was very accommodating as well. You see the day I broke my foot I was on my way to school to take a test. HA so I thought. She made arrangements for me to take the test in the testing center. She made these arrangements several times and it just was not happening. I could not really go anywhere I was in too much pain. So I was able to make it to the final so she said that she would take the final grade and make that my last test as well as the final. So I was getting an A in the class up til then. I ended up with a B which I can live with. However, in my ceramics class I could not finish my final project so I ended up with an incomplete. LOL

So when I went to the doctor after being in the splint/cast for two weeks I got to take it off and was given a hard soled shoe to wear and told to put weight on it as tolerated. So I tried walking a bit when I got home. As long as I had the funny shoe on I could walk limited amounts around the house with the help of a cane. Then the following week I was starting to be able to walk in my slippers for limited amounts but if I needed to go to the corner or out to do other stuff I wore the shoe. A few days ago I started wearing normal shoes but I still need to see the doctor again to see if I need surgery as my foot still hurts in the ankle region and wear I broke it as well as one other place that is connected but I am unsure if it should be hurting. Its been 6 weeks as of Monday although I read it can take up to 7 to fully heal but should it still hurt? That is a question a doctor should be able to answer. I was supposed to see a doctor on Friday but I will get to why that has not happened in a moment.

You see during all this crap my family has been all coming down with the flu one by one. So just after Christmas I came down with it too. OH yay i guess I am not done yet. I am still sick as we speak. I thought I was starting to get better but I dunno for some reason today I feel really crappy.

However in other news its my birthday and I am 35 years old today. So this is why I have not been around.

Honey, I am sorry that you have had such rotten luck. Think of it this way, you might have been saved from being hit by a bus. Well? It is possible.

Hope you start feeling better.
