I have had a few encounters with itunes that just really, lets just say annoyed me, Like for example.I would just be tiding up a couple of my folders. move a couple of folders about. So after i have done all that i want to listen to a little music, so i open itunes put a song on. But a error message comes up.Sorry buy the file could not be found. just beacuse i moved the file where the songs were stored into a different location. so i have to find the song in the folder and press yes.so i have to do this same process for 600 songs. It really bugs me. So if you are new to Itunes, don't move a file into a different location because you will have to sort all your songs out, your pritty much importing them all again. Has this happened to any one else? I am currenly looking for a replacement for Itunes. Im sure they will be some program out there that will do the job. If anyone else knows the program that i am looking for or one similar just comment me please.

thanks for reading

You may be better off doing what I do, make iTunes create a copy of whatever you put into the library in it's own special way. It'll add everything in Artist > Album > Tracks order and automatically rearrange folders and file names depending on the tags you give them in the "Get Info" dialogue. It avoids you having to manually rename files and move them around to keep them tidy and in order.

It sort of stands to reason that if you move the files a program installs around behind its back that it is then not going to be able to find them. Imagine if your significant other decided to "clean", and moved your keys, iPod, and shoes to where they thought those items should be stored. You would then have to go looking for them again.

The only real problem I've had with iTunes, and this was admittedly probably my fault, was when I got a new computer and tranferred my iTunes library to the new computer before installing iTunes itself. When I installed iTunes, it completely erased the hundreds of songs I had transferred from the old computer.

On the bright side, that experience taught me to not transfer my library to the same directory on the new computer the next time I got a new one.
