Download Our Windows 7 Tips!

The apparent death of my Macintosh’s web camera has set me to thinking again.

It is time to simplify my computer life.

I will concentrate on the Macintosh for awhile.

That includes getting the Macintosh back to full working order first.

Then I will add 2 new 1 TB hard drives. One will be for my projects. The other will be for backups.

I will buy a new External Firewire case that will have RAID 1 for automatic backup of my data.

My Windows Home Server project will be placed on hold.

I will remove the 500 GB hard drives from the server and install them into the Beast PC.

My Operating System and programs will be stored on one hard drive.

My data will be stored on a different hard drive, and the data will be backed up to yet another hard drive.

I will buy a new Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 for the Beast PC.

I want the ability to use the Beast PC for videos and future Live Shows.

I will begin rebuilding my Windows Home Server with a full tower case.

I will only install 1 TB hard drives into the new server. This will increase my storage capacity greatly.

I will buy a monitor for my Windows Home Server. That way I can access it any time I want or need.

Once those goals are accomplished, it’s time to start saving money for a Mac Pro!

JT: "Portable" means that you can connect it to any computer... I think it's just a play on words, or something.

packeteer... everyone has their own definition of "simplify."

I was getting frantic, going in too many directions at the same time.

Now I plan to accomplish my plans for the iMac, then I will concentrate on one computer at a time.

that's hardly simplifying things... how about a single laptop with some external accessories (hard drive, lcd, keyboard, mouse etc)

I have my 15" Macbook Pro, a 1Tb Firewire drive, a 23" LCD, mac wireless kb and usb mouse

I just orderd the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000.

I have no specific plans but always wanted a WebCam. The short descriptions and reviews, that I read about it, do say that it is one of the best out there.

I also read something about it being portable. I am not quite sure what that means. I would think that it would have to be connected to a PC or Laptop to work. I wouldn't mind at all if I could record with it and then play back the recording after I connected it to my Laptop.

Wow. Sounds like you've got your hands full for a while. I think that I'll leave you alone to do all of that. Tell me when you're done!
