Google's power a good thing?

Gmail, Google Docs, Google gadgets, Google Earth and you get the idea Google is everywhere and anywhere but is this a good thing?

Well at the moment it is but in the future we’ll should get a bit worried. Google could be considered as “The big brother” of tomorrow. Who knows how long it will take until Google Maps will show your back yard or Google earth will be live!

These are all possible outcome but it always leads me back to the question: Is Google’s power a good thing?

I have my opinion and that is swell but is it possible for Google to take over the earth? Who knows, but we can only for or against it if it happens.

But if it does happen I think I know what they would call it, Google Earth. So is the software a possible hint?

Comment by Bret Spector on April 29, 2009 at 7:31pm: Google is also the proud owner of YouTube. They are a business giant. And from what I hear, they are buying little companies by the dozen. That's going to make them more money, and if it doesn't they can dump them and recollect that money easy. Why? Because they are Google and they have a lot of money and power. But they use their power for good (wow, that sounds like Superman or something)

I think that the tech industry needs somebody like Google. I mean, I can think nothing of good things about Google, except the being able to see if I'm running around naked in my backyard or what (which I don't do), but even in that, there are good things.
