Well, I've been here long enough. I think it's high time I've started my blog.
So, today, I'm going to talk about music and Disney.
As you all probably (and sadly) know Hannah Montana, the Jonas Brothers, and Demi Lovato and mega-stars such as them, and also know how popular they are, one has to think, "Wow. They are really sky-rocketing in terms of popularity and fans." Well, I have a question for you all: Are they really all that great?
See, most everyone now knows about these stars from Disney Channel, various concerts and the such. But honestly, Disney (in the past) has really been a place for little children to look up to; I mean, seriously, they had all these great role-models to look up to, and now, quite honestly, many of these so called "stars" can't even be trusted. You've probably heard of the three Disney stars that have posed au-natural for their lovers. Is that really how stars of a once great company should behave?! Before you know it, there will be a Disney magazine absolutely full of these pictures.
And that's not even the worst part, folks. These stars haven't even been fired for these. Now, I know what some of you might be saying: "Dude, seriously, these were meant for their bf's and gf's." Okay, I get it. But what happens when these photos are out on the loose and most everybody's looked at them at some point in their life? The answer: fans dwindle, meaning less support and money for Disney, and then Bob Iger's out of a job... not that it's such a bad thing.
Alright, now to music, which sorta ties in with the Disney spiel up above. Does anyone remember when music could make you think about life and enjoy it? When the songs were about important things in life, such as family, friends, and yes, even love. Nowadays, stars are singing about materialistic objects. There's even a Christmas song of which the story behind is that the singer received better presents than the person they're speaking to did. Whenever I hear that song, I'll quickly turn off my radio and be so angry the rest of the day. I don't remember Bon Jovi or Rick Springfield singing about getting a brand new Mustang GTO.
So, I hope this has opened up your eyes on the new age of superstars and music. Thanks for reading.
