Forget the "Talkin the Talk" lets put the money where your mouth is!

OK, MIcrosoft gets slated left right and centre, usually from people who don't do very much with their computers, so instead of people just stating facts based on other people's and we all go around in circle, lets get you all to pull the finger out, and heck let's get Chris involved in this... as I'm sure this little exercise may actually show you just how good Microsoft products really are!

The scenario:
Small office with 10 users.
All computers need to have wordprocessor, spreadsheet, email client.
Two computers need accounts software that both link into
The require x2 networked laser printers (one colour one black and white)

The users need the ability to access their email remotely from anywhere in the world from any PC.
The users need to be able to have shared diary functionality and one user requires the ability to access the directors diary and email as required.

The accounts side has to be secured away from the other users

The network has to be protected against Virus, Malware and SPAM.

MY SOLUTION:
The would have a server to store all their documents on. This would be Small Business Server 2008, with additional 5 user licence.
Trend Worry-Free Business Security Advanced would be used to secure the network and deal with all SPAM.
The computers would be PC's, Windows Vista Business Edition. 4GB RAM, 80GB HD's, CD Writer
Office 2007 would be installed on each PC
Sage Line 50 would be installed on the server with two users linking in.
HP Laserjet 3000N Colour Laser
HP P2055DN Black and Wwite Laser

Users can link in remote to email using Outlook Web Access, plus they can do remote work directly to the computer in the iffice using Remote Web Workplace.

Now the actual cost here is not something that we will deal with at the moment, but the job here is for all of YOU to come up with another solution based on NOT USING THE HATED MICROSOFT SOFTWARE!!!

Well... C'mon the real world challenge is on.... are you up to it?

Thing is Dan, All you read on here and everywhere else is all the idiots slamming MS and yet, after all this time there is NOBODY who can come on here and come up with a NON MS solution! SO maybe its about time all the MS slaters and haters got off their backsides and put up or just SHUT UP!

Hell no!!!, Open Office CAN NOT do the same things as MS office, not matter how you spin it, not even close. If it could, everyone would have it.

And Mac doesn't have anything like Office's Outlook "Sharepoint" either.

Good puzzle Gordon, I can't wait to see the lame answers... LOL!
