Do you feel like a Blogger?
I woke up this morning feeling very, very good. I felt my passion for blogging shining through and I wanted to write. Then I had a vision on what it would be like to go pro. It would be the best having people read and comment positively (mostly) on your posts wouldn't it?
So when you blog do you do it passionately and positively? I sure do, I make sure I have something to say and have a particular message in my posts (sometime hidden).
I was talking to a mate last night and I was surprised on how negative he was towards my passion and newly found hobby. He basically stated that I should give up and do something useful with my time. I told him otherwise (I won't say what I said we need to keep it G rated).
But my message is that don't let negative thoughts bog you down on your work. If you are lucky your household won't be full of them.
Oh, don't blog purely for money, there will be no passion sensed in your work.

Comment by James Hill on April 21, 2009 at 4:32pm - I love blogging and sharing my writing with my peers. I have not received money and I tend to keep it that way. I think if I got paid I would lose my passion. That's not saying I wouldn't blog on Lockergnome, I would do it for free. Wink.

- I agree with you. I enjoy just making a blog and having it read. I don't do it just because the money (even though I haven't gotten any money yet).

Comment by Jon Sheline on April 20, 2009 at 9:55pm - Actually, I feel it's possible to work toward the goal of compensation without losing what I enjoy about keeping my blog going. It has to be done patiently, and with realistic expectations though. I also think that if you enjoy the writing, and you become a paid writer, you'll need to create a new outlet of expression to maintain the passion...
