As most of you know Macworld has come and gone. With that left the last Apple keynote and the last of Apple's Macworld participation in whole. Many of us were expecting to see a few couple more hardware announcements other than the new 17" MacBook Pro. The one that we were most expecting was the new Mac Mini that we've been waiting for a very, very long time. It didn't happen though. We saw the new iLife '09, iWork '09 and new MacBook Pro. This is why I believe that sometime within the next 2 months we will see a Apple event. This event will be focused on the desktop. In September we saw the iPod event, then in October there was the Notebook event. Why not have a Desktop Event? All of Apple's desktop products are over dude for updates. Here is what I think the updates will be at this event that I believe will happen.

Mac Pro: This 8 core beast was last updated in January of 2008. Intel will be releasing the Xeon processors soon so we'll those included in the Mac Pro. Also I think that it will have new GPU options as well. Possibly a Radeon HD 4870? That would be nice.

iMac: This nice sleek all in one machine hasn't been updated since April of last year and is due for its checkup at the doctor. We'll definitely see faster Core 2 Duo like we always due. Maybe Apple will release the first Quad Core iMac too. They could have the Quad Core iMac take the spot as the Top Model iMac. That would be nice. It will also have the new Nvidia chipset so it probably have support for 8GB's of RAM like 17" MBP. It also wouldn't be a surprise to see Apple continue its move to LED by making the iMacs screen LED.

Mac Mini: No this little thing hasn't been updated in over a year and a half. The little thing needs major hardware upgrades. Its wrong that Apple hasn't lowered the price on cent even though this thing is so outdated. I think that the new Mini will see a design change to bring it in line with the Macbook line and iMac. Or it can possibly take the shape of a Apple TV. That wouldn't be too bad. I also believe that it will get the newer 45nm Core 2 Duo's with more cache and a higher FSB and higher clock speeds of course. This new Core 2 Duo's partner will be the Nvidia chipset and integrated GPU. It will now support 4GB's of RAM as well. This will now make the Mac Mini a whole lot faster and most likely keep it's current price point.

Cinema Displays: These displays have not seen updates for 2 years except for the 24" which was updated at the notebook even in October. These will be redesigned to look like its 24" family member and probably include an iSight webcam.

What would be cool to see: One thing that I'd like to see Apple show off is Snow Leopard. We were expecting this at Macworld but didn't. But there's a possibility that this would be held off until WWDC '09 this summer.
Another thing is that many Apple Fan's would like to see them revive the external iSight camera. I think that this would be very nice too but unlikely.

So what are your thoughts? Do you agree or disagree. If you disagree than why do you?

So this is what I think Apple will do within the next 2 months. But remember, these are just my predictions and things that I've learned from rumors of trustable sites such as MacRumors, Apple Insider and others.
