But that appears to be just the tip of the iceberg, as the game's distributor, Electronic Arts, has revealed plans to have over 5,000 songs available by the end of the year. - Arstechnica.com

Holy cow is all I have to say. Although I still won't be content until I get a power metal track pack (Including some Kamelot, Luca Turilli, and Rhapsody of Fire) along with a punk/ska track pack. And I mean real Punk, not a whole trackpack full of new gen emo bands. I want punk, like The Casualties, Propagahdni, etc. Although the first one would be pretty difficult on vocals.

I wish Guitar Hero would come out with a hardcore metal pack that would sample all styles, but only the songs everyone knows, not obscure trax. Classsic Slayer, Priest, Maiden, Cannibal Corpse, Amon Amarth, Dimmu Borgir, Slipknot, etc, bands that aren't so obscure people wouldn't buy it.
Anything from Ace of Spades to Make Them Suffer to Surfacing.

I'd buy it!

My roommate lent out his copy of Rock Band 2 to a friend so I've been playing Guitar Hero World Tour lately. Got 100% on expert on The Day That Never Comes (Death Magnetic DLC) by Metallica last night on guitar...helps that I can play it in real life too (on my bass, not guitar :P)

Rockband is fun but I suck at it.
My sister is a beast at it.

You and me both. Norwegian content like Gluecifer, or some Madrugada. Heck I would kill (metaphorically speaking?) for a Norwegian deathmetal trackpack with some Gorgoroth, Satyricon and Immortal. Would be near impossible for everyone in the band, but would still be fun to try. Vocals would be guttural hissing/screeching, drums would require a double bass pedal and the guitars/bass would be insanely fast.

Trackpack for the true expert player.
