Obviously if you are here on GEEKS, you have great knowledge and appreciation for all things technology. Everything from hand held gadgets to 1080p HDTV's are what make your (our) world go round. Now a days if you can think of something you would want or need, chances are there is something out there to suite your need. And if there isn't something to satisfy your need directly, there is usually a "way" to get what you are looking for.
At this point I thank you for reading into this post without jumping to conclusions simply based on the title. In all honesty though that's exactly where I'm going with this. It comes down to the famous saying, "too much of a good thing". I have absolutely nothing against all the tech in the world, but what I'm getting at is that after a while it can be slightly intimidating.
I myself have recently, within the past few years, really become interested in all things tech. It all started when my girlfriend and I bought our new computer. As I researched and researched some more, I found all sorts of things that were possible. Ever since I've been hooked. At the time I couldn't get enough, but now I'm getting to the point where I constantly feel out of the loop. When we received our PC from Dell and I went all out. We now have the PC hooked to our 50" HDTV as a monitor. Which by the way is awesome for movies and such. Anyway, what I'm getting at is that it doesn't seem so cool anymore. That was only about a year and a half ago.
The bottom line of what I'm getting to is that I think there can be a such thing as too much tech. For someone like me that wants to know all there is to know, it's really hard. With new gadgets, gizmo's, software, faster hardware, and home theater equipment that once seems science fiction coming out everyday it gets to the point where you can't wrap your head around all of it. Plus on top of all the new products you have the obvious competition between product developers. Where product Y is basically the same as product X and has the same function, but with slight differences. It can be hard to figure out what you want, why you want it, or if you even need it. Then no matter if you went with X or Y, they are both old news a month later because product Z just came out.
To cap this off, I just think it can be hard to keep up with everything. I myself like to know the same if not more than the next guy, but it can be frustrating at times. I'm still excited about one thing, meanwhile everyone else has moved on to the next best thing.
Thank you for reading, and I hope to see your comments!
