Reviews, News, and How To Geeks

Download Our Windows 7 Tips!

Today, I started putting a new "feature" on my Shutter Geeks group, featuring a member's work or some of my favorite works at Flickr. This week, I'm featuring Azli Jamil, a Malaysian who travels and shoots some of the most amazing pictures you'll ever see on Flickr. Check it out.

Looking at Azli's moving and often jarring pictures, I realized that me sitting here, enjoying his work on my Mac, on Geeks, sharing them with all of you, is a privilege. Being geeky about photography, getting all excited about the Sony A900 and trying out my new Demb diffuser - I am so so lucky. All of us are.

In looking at Azli's work, I hope you will also count your blessings and know that you are very very fortunate to be here at Geeks, to be sitting there at your computer, and not having to worry about when your next meal is coming, where it's coming from, where you're going to stay the next few weeks. Where the last thing on your mind is whether or not the exposure of your last image was right or whether or not you'll level tonight or whether or not your traffic for your blog will drop since you've not posted in a few days.

Let's all be thankful and not take our gadgets and gizmos for granted!

I would have to agree with you. many times people living in the US tend to forget how good we have it. I forget how lucky I am to be born in a country so unique, in a city so diverse, in a family that loves me regardless of anything I do. I think its easy to be greedy and not care about others in the world. (almost too easy) We need to take time to realize things outside of ourselves. Thanks for the reminder.
