Do geeks make the best partners? Damn straight!

Come Sept 29, my husband and I will be married eight years.

Eight wonderful but challenging years.

On the day of our wedding ceremony, Lokes read his vows to me from a Pocket PC. We were married at a hotel called Cyberview Lodge (I kid you not) in Malaysia. We even had a little thing online in Asheron's Call - remember Asheron's Call?

We met online on IRC about...12 years ago. We were friends for a while, and started dating a couple of years after when we discovered how many similar interests we had: gaming, the Internet, computers. I was working at PC World Malaysia. He was working at one of the top IT firms. We were Geeks, period. What am I saying, we still are geeks.

We were meant to be!

If someone asks me today what kind of man makes the best husbands, I will say, hands down, geeks. They are simple folk, geeks (I mean this in the nicest way). It don't take much to make them happy. The three Gs - games, gadgets and geeks for friends (and wives/girlfriends/boyfriends)- that's all they need.

I know it's a little early but Happy Anniversary, baby. I can't think of a better place to write this. May we spend the next eight years still geeking around, raising our two little geeks, who will hopefully find geeks of their own to love one day.
