CD Drive issues Help?

Delete Discussion So the other week my CD/DVD drive just Cut out the drive still opened and closed but for some reason it wasnt being reconised so i rebooted to see if that would fix it but this Just caused the PC to Hang on the xp Boot Logo the thing kept scrolling but nothing happened so i pressed restart and it offed me safe mode and the same this just hung too, so i dissconnected the Drive restarted and it all worked Fine.
At the time i just thought it was a bad drive so i bought a new one which arrived the other day so i installed this and guess what? exactly the same problem only this time it wouldnt even boot once so i thought Stuff it and unplugged it. i was thinking about it earlier and wondered Cos its a SATA Drive and it uses the Same power Rail as my HDD's could there be some sort of conflict? any suggestions? (may i also add that even when the boot failed the drive was still shown in the BIOS for connected devices

well i thought i'd Fixed it i tried everything here and im stull having issues CD's Work Fine But for some reason DVD'd seem to Crash WMP and even Crash windows im Fed up and just want this fixed
YES i have tried the codec's and it worked brieifly and now is gone to shit again HELP =[
