Do you like to watch movies online?

I love watching movies on my laptop; however, I do not like carrying around movies everywhere I go. It takes all the fun out of portability. Luckily, crackle.com (created by Sony) takes care of that problem. Crackle.com is a site that provides those who visit with a great movie & minisode experience. Here is a short list of movies that can be seen on this site: Air Force One, Rudy, Gattace, Christine, Jumanji, Sleepless in Seattle, Men in Black, and many more. There are also many original… Continue

Pet Peeve - Definitely

Ok, so this post will be me ranting and raving about the spelling of the word definitely. Now, I understand that people misspell words...I do it quite often, but come on people. The word definitely is not a hard word to spell and people use it all the time. This may be my number one pet peeve. I get so mad when I see it misspelled. The first thought that comes to my mind - idiot. D-E-F-I-N-I-T-E-L-Y I found this site that fits my anger for the misspelling of this word.… Continue

Login/Password Security

I recently purchased Microsoft’s USB Fingerprint Reader for my Dell desktop computer. I was hoping to use it in place of entering in all my passwords for every site that requires a login. First things first…I primarily use FireFox 3. Since I first installed FF3, I’ve used it’s ‘Remember Password’ feature. Now…before you start yelling at me about the obvious lack of security, I must say that I only do it for sites that the login doesn’t really matter. I don’t move my desktop very often and the do… Continue

Sickness

So, I am sick and I have an ear infection. I went to the Student Health Center here on campus (Indiana State University) and got some medicine. Hopefully I'll feel better soon. I also found out today that I have Anemia. My iron levels have been low for a couple months and my lab results came in today. I'm now on iron supplements and I'll have to have regular checkups for a while. I also have to stop doing something that I really enjoy...donating blood. It's been the one thing I've done consiste… Continue

I'm cool, are you?

I don’t know about you, but it’s been pretty warm here in Indiana lately. I recently purchased the Aloha Breeze Tower Fan from Wal-Mart. One of the best parts about this tower fan is the remote. Here’s what it controls: Speed: It has 3 speed settings Oscillation: On/Off Timer: Varies from 1/2 hour to 7 1/2 hours Wind Modes: Normal, Natural, Sleeping This fan sits about 33 inches high to provide maximum air. It’s easy to clean and looks great. Trust me…this fan is a life saver. I have it sitti… Continue

Monitor Real Estate

How many monitors do you use? One? Two? Three? Ten??? Many will say that one monitor is more than enough to do everyday computing, but for those geeks out there who always have multiple windows, live feeds, messengers, applications, and whatever else open simultaneously … expanded monitor real estate is an essential part of the computing experience. Personally, I have two 22″ Dell (E228WFP) Widescreen monitors and plan on purchasing another within the coming months. To give you an idea of why I… Continue

Wireless Networks

How do you access the Internet…modem, ethernet, wireless card? For the past month, I’ve been using Apple’s AirPort Extreme to broadcast a wireless signal throughout my home and later on my dorm room. I purchased the 802.11N Wireless PCI Xtreme N Desktop Adapter for my desktop to connect the the AirPort Extreme. AirPort Extreme The AirPort Extreme lets you connect to the Internet wirelessly, connect to a USB enabled harddrive, and/or a USB printer. It sets up the perfect home network. Th… Continue
