Today was the Word Wide Developer Conference Keynote that detailed information about the upcoming iPhone, iPod Touch, the Mac notebook line, and the new operating system, Snow Leopard.
At least a couple of the rumors I've been reading on the web over the passed few months were actually correct. One of those is about Apple's video software, QuickTime. The new version is going to include features that are already available in QuickTime Pro for the Mac and is going to be called QuickTime X. With Q…

I tried downloading Mac OS X 10.5.7 from Software Update from the Apple menu to begin with, and after initializing and telling me that it was going to take at least 2 hours to download the update, software update came up with an error and told me that it could not complete the download. So, I had to go to the Apple website to download and install the update package. It downloaded, installed, and told me to restart my computer. Took about ten minutes.
When I restarted my computer, my screen came…

I used to think that a power user was someone who used a printer and other various assorted hardware items because they needed more than just a computer to get their daily work done. Then I started thinking, "maybe it's someone who needs more in the way of speed and performance than the average PC that their local electronics store is selling has".

Times is an RSS Feed reader for the Mac. It has a wonderful interface which definitely made me more interested in the news than I have been lately. It has a simple drag and drop interface which allows you to drag RSS feeds from the top menu and drop them into the pallet or page of feeds that you’re currently reading. You can add pages to keep your RSS feeds organized by category: sports, tech, weather.…

I felt like that guy on
"Pushing Tin" who was trying to come back to work. He was an air traffic controller and apparently their turnover rate is something fierce. He was all sweating and breathing heavy just trying to get out of his car. He started walking towards the door and his former colleagues came rushing up to him welcoming him back trying to give him support. Of course, before that, they had all bet on how far he was going to mak…

Merry Christmas!! :) Got this in my email.
*Twas the month before Christmas* *When all through our land,*
*Not a Christian was praying*
*Nor taking a stand.*
*See the PC Police had taken away,*
*The reason for Christmas - no one could say.*
*The children were told by their schools not to sing,*
*About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.*
*It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say*
* December 25th is just a ' Holiday '.*
*Yet th

Believe it or not, this is a really easy thing to do if you just follow these five simple steps:
- Open a new tab in your Web browser and type chris.pirillo.com and hit enter/return.
- In the search field, type "OmniDragon" without the quotes.
- Click the first link under the results that says "Top Five Movie Scenes".
- Read the post.
And there you have it. Who would've thought that making OmniDragon happy was so simple it could…

So, I was driving back from doing a little shopping today. I really needed a new hat. The one I've got doesn't fit and the clasp broke on the other one. As I was sitting at the stoplight, just near my turn, I saw someone standing near the corner with a sign in his hands. Usually they say something like "Heading South" or something like that. I started scooting forward a little bit to read it and this one said "HUNGRY".
I don't imagine I would've thought twice about it, had I not spoken the word…

So, I was watching an episode of Prison Break on
hulu.com and got a real nice closeup of Lincoln's tattoos on his left arm.

I was wondering if maybe they could somehow write those tattoos into the story. Mic…

I was sitting here on the computer watching Chris Pirillo give a presentation and he said that he could still remember the first time he ever emailed someone. That made me think of how I could still remember the first time I ever pinged someone who was sitting next to me from a command prompt. After that, I started thinking about why I first stepped up to a computer in the first place. When I, myself, first got on a computer, my goal was to be able to communicate with other people online. I was…

Yeah, I watched that whole debate last night via
hulu.com who were kind enough to stream it live for everyone to see (cable companies beware). And after the debate, these guys were on there giving there take of who, in their minds, was the clear winner of that debate.
I sat there watching and listening and couldn't believe that people could come away from that one thinking that Obama had in any way won. He was rude, interrupted the mode…

I had you. And you were worth having, to be sure.
As time goes by and I see what it's like without you
You were one of a kind though my past is a blur
The path I'm on can be nothing of what I'd call true
I had an agenda. An agenda to keep my heart close to me
and that is where I've kept it for so very long
I had once wished that you and I could one day be called "we"
though i know now they'll never be able to write our love in song
There was a tie that I severed one day almost completely witho…

When Gregg Tubbs, a freelance writer living in Columbia, did such a great job of
reviewing Harry Potter: Goblet of Fire, he had quite a few questions to ask on the end of his review and I would like to add my thoughts to just a couple of them.
Do you see how Harry could be seen as Christ-like? In what ways is this possible? Must he sacrifi…

My thoughts on Apple's Rockin' Out Conference:
People who don't own these new mobile devices from Apple like the iPod Touch, Nano, iPhone, and have just really been waiting for something new in Leopard, have really been getting the short end of the stick lately. And these passed couple tech conferences have REALLY been borin' me.
A really small iPod nano with a longer battery life is interesting. And I'm glad it's now environmentally friendly. New games for the iPod Touch look nice. I'm glad…

So I was trying to figure out how to add an RSS url to my page that would display my favorites on youtube. I thought that it would be just as easy and going to my favorites page on youtube and hitting the RSS icon in the address bar of Firefox. Unfortunately, it just kept redirecting me to the videos that I had created on my channel and not my favorites.
I did a little search and found a solution to this issue at
ube…

I seem to be the minority when it comes to this, but I really can't read white text on a black background on the internet. It literally kills my eyesight. I'm not trying to say that the page designs are bad or anything. They're actually very cool looking and I wish I
could read them. Because a lot of people who have page designs like that, I would certainly love to keep up with and read their blog posts. But I can't. I value what little eyesight I do have and I'm not going to jeopardize i…

I'm a Mac/Linux user, so I haven't gotten the chance to mess around with it yet myself. So I went looking for an informative article/video about Google's new browser. It turns out I didn't have to look very far as one of our own members here at geeks.pirillo.com had already done a very well thought out and
informative video of his own.
After watching this, I felt a lot more confident in w…
