When What You Think Is Bad Turns To Good

Today, I went to pick up some contacts lens. The place was closed with a sign on the door saying they had gone to lunch and would be back in an hour. Woo hoo... they did not say when they left. I felt a bit put out because I made a special trip. However, I decided to drive further up the street to another store that I had not been to in a while. On the way, I saw a sign. It said 70-80% off....store closing. This was an advertisement for a grocery store. Wow, was the first thing that I thought.… Continue

If One Is Interested In Reading Just Anything

My life is a joy. I can do a lot of things that some women never dream of doing and it pleases me. However, the point of all of this is really just silly. Me telling all of y'all what I have been doing for two days. Does anyone really care? It would truly amaze me if they did. Yesterday, I borrowed a neighbors truck to go pick up my lawnmower from where else....the lawnmower place. :) I asked the lady who took the mower in to call me with the details of what needed to be done and a quote of th… Continue

OK, so I stole this but the truth needs to be told. he hee It's so good to read the truth at last?? I love this Doctor ! Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true? A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... Don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Some Of My Thoughts On How To Be Happy

I am a woman who has decided that being happy in life is my choice. Now that I have been practicing having a good attitude, accepting what I have in life and being pleased with it, I have become a very happy woman. People look down the road for happiness when they should be looking at the moment. Learning to live in the moment and not thinking about what will make one happy is key in my opinion. Learning to love ourselves is anther thing that people over look. They are always looking for someo… Continue

Trade Guns for Roses in South Carolina

I just posted about a bill to give people the right to carry a hand gun in a holster in four states. Now, I am sitting here reading an article where in of all places, South Carolina is hoping to get guns off of the street. This can be good if some criminal were to turn theirs in, which I do not see happening. The police in S. Carlina gave away roses on Valentines Day. All one had to do to get one for their sweet heart was to turn in a gun. Authorities in two central South Carolina cities set… Continue

American Economy Woes Compared To One Country In The Middle East

As Americans, we are in the middle of one of the worse downturns ever as everyone is aware. The housing industry is not only down, it has just about stopped. Banks are not leaning money even to people who have good credit while holding good jobs. Many people have lost their homes. The banks are left with the property and in a lot of cases, these homes are not being sold and very well may just sit causing a blight in the communities unless something else can be done. Many people are losing thei… Continue

According to a news article a few days ago, Starbucks will be downsizing. It seems their profits are down by 69 percent in the first quarter report. They are closing 300 under performing stores around the world by the end of the fiscal year. Yet, in the same article, they stated that they would be opening 140 new stores in the U.S. in fiscal 2009, down from its previous target of 200. Starbucks also said its Chief Executive Howard Schultz will be paid just $10,000 in base salary for fiscal 200… Continue

How Much Drive and Determination Do You Have?

I just watched a movie on television about a young man from an Irish Catholic family who always dreamed of playing football at Notre Dame. He was a small kid, his grades were not good, plus, no one believed in him. After his best friend, the only friend he had who believed in him died in a job related accident, where they both worked, he decided to give it a try. After the funeral, he left to go to South Bend, Indiana to see what he could do with a lot of determination and desire. He didn't kn… Continue
