That is the Eagle Nebula - also known as M16 (aka NGC 6611). This is real - taken by Hubble in 1995 and it is part of stars forming. It is extremely close by universe standard measurements - being only about 38,127,024,000,000,000 miles from Earth. :-)) Big number eh? In light years it is only 6,500 LY away - quite close. Note that the universe width is estimated to be about 24 gigaparsecs or 156 billion light-years. In miles that would be 915,048,576,000,000,000,000,000 miles. ;-))

If you are a US citizen, please inform yourself about Senate Bill S 773 and CALL your Senators and Just Say No. This is one of the worst proposals I have seen on the Internet since Day 1. (Well - I started on Day 2.)
Being developed behind closed doors, the bill would authorize the President to take over Private networks - preasumably YOUR freaking computer.

So I go to the Doc awhile back and in a prostrate exam he exclaims: "HHmmm" So I go - oh my hhmmm what. Anyway, he found a little something he was concerned about. So I go to a Urologist and he finds the little dohickey, says "HHmmm" and set up a biopsy.
Last Monday I had the test. Not fun at all. Not so much painful perse, as a combo of 75 % uncomfortable/25 % pain. They took 12 clicks in total. I was reading a book during the first 3 - with less and less comprehension as the clicks progressed… Continue
