Are Browsers Conforming?

When I first saw the pictures of Firefox 4 the first though that crossed my mind was "That is too similar to Google Chrome" so I got a incentive to instead of just writing up a blog post about my own opinions I've decided to ask the community at geeks! about their opinions on the matter. With mixed responses I decided to show a whole communities thoughts and feelings before I go on with my own opinions, hopefully this will create a more diverse post, rather than a single faceted post. I don'Continue

Fences, the app that organises your desktop icons

A while ago a Phillip sent me a link to a website called “Fences” an app that allows you to organise your desktop icons without anything that would take up a lot of memory and slow down your computer. The three things that I noticed in the first few hours of using it was the amount of memory that it used (tiny would be an overstatement) how easy it was to use and… Continue

Aussie Tech Head, Hicks in Tech

For a while now I have been listening to an Aussie technology podcast, one that has always been a source of entertainment rather than a source of information. Since I started downloading it, I've only listened to it for the pure hilarity that goes on. Of course this hilarity is not intentionally done at all, in fact, quite the opposite. For this is the reason that has kept me listening intently, not to bask in the knowledge of the… Continue

Free Converter

For about one or two years now I've been using a free service called Zamzar which allows me to convert image files, music files & video files to other formats. Just say that you wanted to convert a song from the format ".aac" to the format ".mp3" I would just visit Zamzar and upload the file and select the format I would like the file to be converted to (In this case it would be ".mp3") and leave my e-mail address so it can send me the link for me to download the converted file from. All you… Continue

32 or 64?

A long time ago I done a post on 32 and 64 bit systems with a few small with the pros and cons, I just that that seeing that I done so little on a subject so wide that I'd do it again and hopefully shed some more light on 32x and 64 bit OS's. Now first things first, you may be asking me "What the hell is the difference between a 32x and a 64x OS?" which is fair enough because when it comes down to it there are only a few amount of differences between them. The main differences between them woul… Continue

In Love with Windows 7

Since I’ve been without my main Machine (My Quad Core) I’ve had to go back to an older machine my Dual Core and on this machine I’ve had Windows 7 installed. From booting into windows new OS I’ve noticed that it’s not only as sexy as I’ve been told but the way that I’ve experienced it has made me feel bad about going back to Windows Vista. I’ve got a Dual Core (1.8 GHz) with 2GB of RAM, and the computer isn’t lagging like it did with Vista on it, it’s had no crashed or random explorer errors li… Continue

Ever since the first Athlon 64 processor was available 64x users were waiting for a upcoming 64x OS. Windows Vista not so bad after all

A while ago i blogged "Microsoft? maybe it you're fault" were i talked about all these people hot on the gun to blame vista for problems that were created by the user not the OS, and then a while later i found myself in the other pair of shoes blaming Vista for a problem, thankfully i was correct and it was vistas fault but that's a whole other story in itself.

Why dosent life have a Find shortcut?!

For a while now I've been somewhere and at some place looking for something, be it in a magazine at home or in a draw to looking for something from a shelve in a shop, where I have just (almost like a reaction) raised my hands like I'm typing and pressed ctrl+f (which is fine) while people around me are staring at me for a while until I realize that… Continue

What the hell global warming skeptics?!

Global warming is science FACT in our days, and i still have meet people around the place who think it is nothing more than way to make money! The answers are all around you, from the receding ice caps, water rising, unstable weather, new disease, ect ect. And yet i hear people yammering on in the shadows about how it is a load of crap and nothing is going to happen! i mean even if it was a load of crap and not true (which it is not!) wouldn't it be a good thing to stop relying on coal power an… Continue
