"I dreamed I was a butterfly, flittering around in the
sky; then I awoke. Now I wonder: Am I a man who dreamt of being a
butterfly, or am I a butterfly dreaming that I am a man?"
In my World Studies class today we were talking about Daoism and were discussing the butterfly dream, this made me think back to this video back from 2000. I challenge you to question information next time you watch, read or hear anything. You never know what is reality and what is not... Continue

Thought provoking discussion in my world studies class today. We spent most of the period talking about how things are viewed depending on your beliefs and where you stand.

Have you ever wondered how the RGB to HEX conversion works? I was wondering how a person could figure that out the other day and this is what I learned:
Lets take an RGB Value of 231, 56, 78. The first thing we have to do is we have to turn each of those values, the R, G and B, into a binary octet. So to start lets take a look at the R value of 231. When we convert that we get:
11100111
The next step is to take that and cut it into two 4 bit chunks. This gives us:
1110, 0111
Now we need to… Continue
Ok, I finally got my butt into gear and I put ubuntu on a disk and am running it now while I type this. I actually, dare I say it, I actually kind of like it so far. It appeals to the developer inside me. So being brand new to linux I was wondering if anyone had any good resources for learning there command line and scripting. Thanks much.

It started off as a casual, yet delicous, diner of lasagna that led to something, well, something not very pretty. As me and my parents finnished up the dishes we decided to play some Guitar Hero. Seems inocent enough, right? Wrong, there is nothing harder to do than trying not to laugh as your parents completely bomb Living On A Prayer, on Easy. Now don't get me wrong, it is great that they are trying to play it and do something that I actually find fun for a change, but it is just to hard not… Continue
I am so lucky! the desk that I sit at is located so that the heat vent comes right up in the center where my feet are. Oh, I don't know what I would do if it wasnt there. It is soooo cold. im talking -30 without the windchill here. It is late now, but if I don't have school I will do some cool stuff for you all tomorrow with the cold. I have done this one year before. I'm talking about things like pounding a nail into a board with a frozen bananna and freezing eggs. You can even through boiling… Continue
I was at Borders the other day and I just had to laugh. You can possibly imagine how many elderly gentle-folks walked in wanting to know how to work there iPod they have had for three years and havent been able to figure out. Another common one was working MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. It was a fun time. I also got to feel smart helping them out>
