Apparently Seagate's having a rough time dealing with some of their hard drives. Their 7200.11 1TB drives are failing, but not because of mechanical means. Faulty firmware on the problem drives is the cause of the problem. And even worse, the problem can't be repaired without a hefty cost due to the problem disabling even the most critical of BIOS accessibility.
