Want an iMac but have no money for one.

With my 18th Birthday just 2 weeks away, I was really excited as I think I could have gotten an iMac or Macbook. But I was very shocked when my mum said no, this of course made me feel very sad. I was wondering if it's possible to get a Mac Mini within the £100 - £200 range, as I think the mac mini would be great as a starting point. Anyone have any ideas? Continue

People in college not doing thier work! Playing with gutiars instead.

I*t seems that most(if not all) the people in my class would rather play with Gutiars then do thier work. I bet sometime they will ask me for help, I'm sorry. I'm a nice guy and all that but at the end of the day why should I fail because I'm helping others when they choose to play with guitars. *sigh*. Seriously I don't want any of them to fail but they are kinda asking for it. Oh well never mind hey. Continue

No twitter access in college. I'm now pissed off to the max.

Seriously how can my college block access to twitter, I need it to keep people updated about what I'm doing during the day. But now I can't, what harm is twitter bringing to my college? I tried a proxy but that won't work as they have blocked anything with the word "Proxy" related to it. I'm very upset as before the 2 week half term I was allowed to post to twitter. Does anyone know of a good proxy that I can use to gain access to it, as I need twitter. If I can't access twitter I'll go crazy… Continue

Is youtube becoming too commericalised?

Since the PRS banned music videos from Youtube it seems that the site has become too commercial now. It seems Youtube only care about the partners and leave everyone else out, partners get more from Youtube because they are given features that everyone should be able to use. I have nothing against partners I just don't think it's fair that their videos are getting more views because Youtube apparently advertises them, it's unfair because there are people out there (like me) that have worked har… Continue

Why is it that schools/college's have outdated equipment?

It has only just occured to me that schools and college's are using Outdated equipment considering the government has more than enough money to supply these facilities with up to date equipment. I'm still using IE 6 for god sake IE6 what a joke seriously why don't they use Firefox or any other browser considering they are all free. The computer I am using right now has about 8 USB Ports but will only allow a max of 2 flash drives to be plugged in at any time, It's dumb. I have more than 2 flash… Continue

The console war...... How pointless.

Eveytime I go on the internet mainly Youtube. I see people arguing over which console is better, and it's really starting to annoy me very much. I don't see why people are arguing over something so pointless. Each console has it's pros and it's cons. PS3 - All the latest hardware, poor quality of games but good as a media entertainment console Xbox 360 - Best Quality of games and is a great for online play , but the hardwware is less reliable and prone to breaking WII - Good kids console, onl… Continue

Apple wired keyboard. My thoughts.

Yesterday I brought an apple keyboard from selfridges in the trafford centre. It was £30, and I wondered why it was so expensive. I took it home and then I plugged it into my Windows Machine and I was amazed, and this was before I even started typing with the thing. I works on both Windows XP and Vista, it might work in Windows 7 but I'm not too sure. It's nicely designed aluminum keyboard and it is very thin for a keyboard. It has 2 USB ports which I think arn't that good since my USB 2.0 devi… Continue

Windows 7. What do you think?

Recently a lot of people have been asking me "What do you think of Windows 7". I said It's a good operating system, but I wouldn't bother upgrading. They asked "Why?", In response I said a few new featues and changes to the shell and GUI are no reason for me to upgrade if I have a perfectly running computer which has Vista on it. If you want to try Windows 7 without breaking your computer (not saying it will), then try it in Microsoft Virtual PC, the program is free from Microsoft, and the down… Continue

Windows 7. Will I upgrade?

I recently got Windows 7 beta from Microsoft. I tried it in Virtual PC. I quite liked the new features in Windows 7, but sadly I need a better reason to upgrade. If Microsoft made Windows 7 free for Vista users then I would definatly upgrade, if it's free why not. But if we have to shell out an extra £250-£300 for the upgrade then hell no. I do like the new taskbar. Now in the past I have hated the taskbar but when I started using it my opinion changed dramatically. One thing I was not able to… Continue

Operating system: Windows Vista Home premium Hard drive space: 250GB SATA CPU/Processor: Intel Pentium Dual Core T3200 Graphics: 732MB Mobile Intel graphics Media accelerator 4500M RAM: 2GB DDR2 Screen size: 12.1" WXGA Crystal Brite LCD USB: 3U… Continue

Why I haven't been on geeks as much.

As you can probably guess from the post title. The reason I haven't been on Geeks as much was because I have been busy in college, and well let's just say I find data bases confusing. Anyway so sorry. When I get free time on my hands I will try to get on to Geeks more. Have a good day John Continue

New Laptop

A couple of weeks ago I went and picked up a new laptop. Because I thought it was time to change from my old PC which was on XP to a Nice brand new Vista machine. Now while XP did serve me well I think that Vista works perfectly, and I also like the look of Vista. I mainly use it for work and some light gaming so I wasn't really looking for A gaming machine. Anyway I have to say I love this new laptop. It is now my primary computer. as you will probably already have guessed yes I did a video o… Continue

Maxtor 500GB Hard drive deal

I was hunting around for a cheap desktop external Hard drive, and so I walked into Argos (It's a great shop for technology, among other things), and decided to look in their catalogue, and I found the Maxtor 500GB hard drive, so I looked at the price, and guess what, it was only £59.99, plus it came with a free 2GB flash drive, so I decided what the hell get the deal while it's there, so I checked to see if they had it in stock and they had 2 left, so I quickly went to the counter and brought it… Continue

Youtube progreed Blog post 2

I never thought i woould be uplading as many videos as I have done, I think im on about 112 videos so far, I have gained and lost a few subscrubers, and I also have gained more firends on there too, from lookinh at the comments it seems my videos are liked by my subscibers, and other people who have watched the video, the only thing that botheres me, is the fact people will only watch about half the video before posting a comment, or they may watch the whole video just so they can find something… Continue

Youtube Progress

As i upload more and more content to Youtube I have noticed that I've been getting a lot more subscribes although it wan't easy. Most of the videos I post up have received good comments, sometimes, they even may be the first comments posted, no while some of my videos the Youtube community doesn't like, most notably my Grand theft strutter video, with comments that were neither constructive or nice they were just plain rude so anyway, since people are starting to subscribe, I will try to uploa… Continue
