Thank You for Standing for Life!

I am writing you to invite you to join in me in supporting one of the most effective pro-life organizations out there, the Susan B. Anthony List. The Susan B. Anthony List is an organization dedicated to advancing, mobilizing, and representing pro-life women in the political process with the ultimate goal of ending abortion in this country. The SBA List fills a large void by supporting both women and pro-life candidates. I believe wholeheartedly in their mission and I hope that you will join me… Continue

Active GrandCentral.com Phone Number Invite For Sale

I was in a chat room and someone brought up not being able to get a www.GrandCentral.com invite anymore. I dug into my old inbox messages and found one invite from 9/30/2007 that I had never used. I love having a GrandCentral account. I'm not going to post tons of stuff about GrandCentral - again, if you don't know what it is, you should NOT be bidding/buying this. But if you do realize you're basically buying a URL link from me - and then you can lin… Continue

My "Receiving the Gift of Giving" Blog Post

I would want the Family Game Night from #Sears @chrispirillo http://bit.ly/giftwish. That sounds so fun to be able to do! I would want the Family Game Night. In this electronic age I think that the fun from a board game is getting lost. I would probably only keep the Harry Potter Scene It and give the rest away, a couple to my niece & nephew then see who my church knows that needs gifts for needy kids. I can't wait till I am debt free so I will be able to do more fun stuff with giving. Continue

To All The Kids Who Survived The 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, and Early-ish 80's!!

Another great forward... To All The Kids Who Survived The 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, and Early-ish 80's!! First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes. Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paints. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had… Continue

Dear Tech Support...

This is a really cute forward that I was sent from a friend... Dear Tech Support, Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0. In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as · Romance 9.5 and · Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as · Tri Nations 5.0, · DSTV 3.0… Continue

They crazy thing kids do...

(Yes, I know that it is supposed to be "The crazy things kids do..." but it was late at night when I posted it and then it went out into the Lockergnome e-newsletter so I can't change the title lest it will break the link.) I never have broken any bones but I had some crazy things happened to me when I was growing up.

My thoughts on Chris' video, Human Circuitry

I would love to be able to just have my computer hardrives online so that I can access my stuff from anywhere, any computer. I have some systems in place (www.datadepositbox.com, www.sugarsync.com, www.foldershare.com and my home network) that somewhat make that happen, but it isn't smooth enough. What are your thoughts? 50 Reasons to Date a Geek

Look what I just found! Jessica Merritt over at the Soul Mating blog has just posted a very long and detailed list of the reasons why dating a geek is a really good thing: Dating a geek means opening up a whole world of awesome technological abilities. 1. A geek can fix your computer: If you’ve managed to screw something up on your computer, your geek will be happy to come to your rescue, and will probably find a solution that will ensure you won’t have the same problem again. 2. Geeks can ma… Continue

Polyphasic Sleep - Only sleeping for less then 3 hours a day.

Some time last year I ran across the blog of Steve Pavlina when I was searching for ways to change my sleep habits. That's were I learned about polyphasic sleep. I would love to try it but am not sure if I have the discipline for it. Check out his site, but be careful cause you can get lost for hours reading all his great articles. Be sure to comment and let me know what you think of this and if you would attempt to try it. Kissa From his blog:Continue

My childhood home...

I just found out that my childhood home where I grew up in for the first 9 years of my life is on the market. The person that my parents sold it to in 1993 is finally moving on after 15 years. I want to buy it soooo bad and she gave me first dibs, but is just not in the money cards at this time. They sold it for $54,000 in '93 and now she is selling it for $189,000 but a couple years ago she was going to ask $250,000 - $300,000. The market must have really softened up in the mountains. I hope w… Continue

My Tattoo

I thought long and hard before getting mine. I think even 2 years. My husband's best friend was the local tattoo artist, so we hung out at his shop a lot. I didn't really want one but I played the "If I were to get one, what would I get" game just to appease them since it was a 'crime' that I didn't have one yet. For Christmas 2005 hubby "bought me a gift certificate for one", so I had to get it. Finally I settled on columbine flowers and hummingbirds. I was born in Denver CO and lived in the m… Continue

The short - but eventful - life of Hurricane Ike

I had this link forwarded to me and I am amazed at severity of them. Most of the photos below are taken near Beaumont TX and it was “just” a Category 2 hurricane. The short - but eventful - life of Ike In its brief lifespan of only 13 days, Hurricane Ike wreaked great deal of havoc. Affecting several countries including Cuba, Haiti, and the United States, Ike is blamed for approximately 114 deaths (74 in Haiti alone), and damages that are still being tallied, with estimates topping $10 b… Continue

I killed my George Forman!

So a couple days ago I cooked steaks on my George Forman grill. I watched a movie then came back to clean up the kitchen. The grill had hardened so I just stuck a wet paper towel in it, closed it, cleaned the rest of the kitchen and then forgot about it. Today tried to grill something else in it and discovered a slightly moldy paper towel. What was worse was that the teflon in the bottom grill had little bubbles in it. I cleaned it up thinking that it would be fine, but NO! It has to start burni… Continue

How can I block emails from just one user??

Why is it that some messages go straight to your actual inbox while others stay in the Ning inbox where you can block messages from that user? I keep keeping several emails a day from a couple different people and I would like to block them. But can't since they are in my yahoo inbox and blocking from there would block all geeks mail. What can I do? Continue
