Tiger ~ 3-23-91 to 9-30-09

Tiger is now with Tony. I had to let him go yesterday. Tiger has been with me since he was 2 months old. He was 18 1/2 years old when he left me. We had been thru a lot together and he will be greatly missed. I am finding myself looking for him where he usually would lay for his naps. I don't think I will ever find a cat as intelligent as Tiger. His kisses are missed already. He was very affectionate with me, especially when he knew I needed it, and he was always taking care of me, in his way… Continue

Just Finished Watching

Just finished watching the Korean drama "Be Strong, Geum Soon". All 163 episodes. You would think with that many episodes there would be some boring parts. Not this drama!! I originally started watching it because it had my most favorite Korean actor, Kang Ji Hwan. The female lead, Han Hye Jin, is also very good. I have seen Kang Ji Hwan in three of his dramas and this is my second favorite of his, "Hong Gil Dong" being the first. He has the most brightest smile, and when he cries, I cry along… Continue

No Privacy

I have been sitting here trying to think. Why is it this way? When did it become like this? How did it become like this? For years now, I have had no privacy. Especially in the bathroom. It was never like this before Tiger came into my life. How did things change? Oh, now I remember! We always kept the bathroom door open for easy access to the litter boxes. Even when we closed the door, Tiger was able to open them at the house we lived in back then. He would stand on his hind legs and play wi… Continue

Tiger's Birthday

Tiger is 18 years old today!! When Tony was alive, we always made a big deal out of birthdays. Now, I just say Happy Birthday to Tiger and sing to him. He doesn't always like when Mommy sings, though. I wonder why? Hmmm, could it be because Mommy just does not have a very good singing voice? When Tiger was younger he was never really into cat toys, so we didn't waste our money buying those. I mostly made his toys. I did buy cat food, so I guess you could say that is his present. LOL! Tiger love… Continue

Tiger is Trying to Give Me a Heart Attack

I just had the biggest scare of my life tonight. Tiger got out. He isn’t wearing his collar because he had lost so much weight, it was too heavy on his neck and it kept sliding off, anyway. Tiger has health problems and needs his medication. He is almost 18 years old and not strong enough to defend himself were he to get into a tangle with the stray cats around here. He was in the bathroom drinking his water, so I thought that would be a good time to check my mailbox. Checking it is usually a… Continue

Thinking of My Brother

We need to let our loved ones know how we feel while they are still alive. My husband and I always did with each other. But then we knew we would not have a lot of years together, so we knew we had to make the best of what time we did have. Why don't we ever think that way with everyone? Enjoy the time we do have with friends and family. Let them know we appreciate them. We forget to do it with family that we do not see. When family members are so many miles apart, we don't think of it. Or we t… Continue

I am blessed

I was re-reading something I had written a while ago and wanted to share it with you. It shows the kind of man I married and what he taught me. I believe if more people would try to look at the bright side of things, this world could be a better place. One day when my husband was in the hospital, while sitting outside his room in ICU in tears, the hospital chaplain walked by. He saw my tears and stopped to say a few words. After that, he would stop by occasionally to talk if he saw me. During… Continue

An Apology

I have to apologize for my last post. Normally, I try not to allow myself to get the blues or feel down. December was a tough month for me, though. Not only because of Tony's birthday being in December plus Christmas. But I was sick. For a healthy person they can get over an illness pretty quick. But when you already have plenty of health problems, it drags on and takes longer to get well. I have an autoimmune disease, so my normal temp regularly runs low. In the 96 or 97 range. My temp reached… Continue

Feeling Useless and Tired

I’ve been reading a lot of the blogs and discussions here on Geeks. And I feel bad that I don’t know a lot of any subject to share with others. Oh, maybe a few years ago I could have shown others how to do embroidery, or cross-stitch, or maybe even plastic canvas. But my eyes aren’t what they used to be, so I had to stop doing those crafts that I enjoyed so much. I can find my way around my computer or the internet, but not enough that I could help others with very much. So I guess what I am sa… Continue

Living in a Positive Way

These quotes reminds me of how my husband lived his life. He never felt sorry for himself, no matter what happened. He just tried to figure out how to continue living in spite of the hardships, how to get around them. "Instead of saying, "Why is this happening to me? Isn't this awful. Poor me", begin to say, "What do I have to learn from this?" -- by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer "When you think positive, happy, loving thoughts, there's a different chemistry that goes into your body than whenContinue

My Late Husband, My Hero

When I say my husband is my hero, he truly is. He taught me so much about being a better person. Even when he was in so much pain, he hid it from others, always had a smile on his face and a joke. He loved to tease. But, as I pointed out to my granddaughter once when she got upset at something he teased about, he only teases the people he cares about, the ones he loves. If he didn't tease someone and was serious with them, I knew he didn't like that person for some reason, but he would never sho… Continue
