While you still (I don’t believe) be able to view this content on your extender, the gentlemen over at MissingRemote have found a way to Boxee into Media Center.

They’ve provided the files and instructions needed

Internet TV in 7MC

Microsoft introduced their Internet TV service in Vista Media Center. It’s still in beta but from using it for a few days in 7MC I can tell you that they’ve made a few improvements. The first thing is that they’ve added it to the guide. You can remove these entries if you want to but it does make it a little more convenient. The interface once you click into these “channels” has gotten a little better. It still looks the same but seems to move a bit smoother both locally and on the Xbox

Divx Not all Happy With Xbox 360

Apparently Jerome Vashist-Rota, VP of creative, brand and community isn’t all happy that the Xbox 360 now support Divx. While he is happy that the 360 can read Divx encoded files, he’s not as joyous about that fact that MS decided to use a 3rd party codec to do so.

DirecTV a no go in Media Center

Ian at The Digital Lifestyle is reporting that DirecTV may be suspending it’s HDPC-20 project for Media Center. This news comes way of Julie Jacobson’s blog and originally from Gearlog. According to the Gearlog post, a DirecTV spokesperson stated: "DIRECTV has suspended the development of the HDPC-20 tuner project that was designed to integrate DIRECTV service into Windows Media Center after assessing the impact of missing the August 2008 release of Windows Media Center update and considering… Continue

35 Days Against DRM

While perusing the web this morning I came across a website which looks to show big business that most people aren’t criminals and that we don’t want restrictions put on how we use our content. While I’m certainly someone who doesn’t believe in DRM, I do think that producers have the right to protect their content, they just haven’t found a very good way of doing it yet. DefectiveByDesign is an organization dedicated to telling the world to boycott DRM products and the site is full of ways to l… Continue
