I used to be on here all the time, asking people things and trying to help with others queries, but recently I just don't feel like I'm worthy of this website.
Sure, I pride myself in being in the 6200th member to sign up here, but that's really all I've got. Yeah, I'm very interested in windows 7, seeing silly PC fan-boys with stupid reasoning getting owned, and the occasional awesome blog, but there is nothing I can truly contribute to this site without feeling like there's no-one noticing.…

Recently, Charlie at CBGFilms (http://geeks.pirillo.com/profile/CBG) made a video about free website builders.
His video was absolutely amazing, extremely informative, and inspired me to make my own. I decided to choose Weebly, the first one he mentions, but then as I got onto the homepage, I wondered why the hell I was making, and what the hell for?!
I thought, maybe it can just a be a personal thing, like updating myself now and then, posting my twitter and youtube vids, and what not there,…

Hello everyone,
I'll begin by explaining how this awesomeness came about. I do VCAL, which is like senior school for the learning impaired. I was not placed in there, I chose to do it because I strongly disagree with the way they teach the 'regular' senior school. I do a class called PDS (Personal Development Skills), and our first major project this year is to make our own project and document it.
So, say someone wanted to organise an event, they would find out how to do so and go ahead with…

Windows, Mac and Linux. 3 leading PC operating systems that all have there fanatics, and there haters. I am here to say that I am one of them few geeks, although becoming a growing breed, who is ready to embrace all 3 of these.
I will start with
Linux. Now Linux isn't really that specific, but here I am referring to Ubuntu and Fedora. My first thought when I heard and started researching Linux, it seems to me that it was what the real, hardcore geeks used, and in a sense it is, but sadly…

okay now that I have alot of geeks attention, I shall explain my problem.
I am trying to install Ubuntu (8.10 i believe) and everytime i try to 'Run without any change to your computer', it comes up with this message;

I'm not sure what it means, but I assume its telling me why Ubuntu wont install, let alone just run off of the disc.
I dont know all the specs of my computer, so if it has to do with that the…

I'm not sure if all countries call it the same thing, but hard rubbish is essentially things that you cant throw out in the rubbish because they're too big and then someone comes along to take it away. Just so you know.
Now, I knows it's considered illegal to go through people hard rubbish, but when there is a whole computer at stake, of course I'm going to save it, but oh man do I have my work cut out for me.
For one, it doesn't actually turn on anymore, and I'm not sure that due to the fact…

So any of you remember the setup i mentioned afew times? the iMac, dual mon. linux computer and my laptop.
well, that hasn't quite worked out as planned. I'm sill trying to convince dad (a windows biased, stubborn man) to buy me an iMac. But i believe i've got some damn good material. I was recently watching 'Helvetica' and I noticed that EVERY SINGLE computer used in the whole movie was either an iMac or a macbook. Seeing as I want to be one of those guys, i think that may just work.
and that…

This disappoints me muchly but obviously I'm not the only one out of America's time zone.
I'm surprised that geeks, of all sites, doesn't have regional time zones.
Ah well...

My mate, Peter, known as Peto Burito here on Geeks (though I doubt he's ever on), has agreed to help build my new Linux Computer. YAY
We are going to install both Ubuntu and Fedora onto it, just to see which one I prefer, but with the rave reviews Ubuntu gets around here, I'm more likely to become more attached to it, but then again, with my head, I may end up going with Fedora.
and once again, if my plans come to fruition, which are going just as planned, I will have all three! I feel so powe…

Okay, if you watched my vlog when it was up here on geeks, you will have heard me talking about my windows 95 computer.
if you haven't seen it, here's the link: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=icPqBBz48P8&feature=channel_page
Anyway, just as luck as it, we still have that old computer, sitting under some plastic in the garage, and it sprung to me, 'WHY NOT REDO THE WHOLE INSIDE?! I COULD RUNING LINUX DAMMIT!'
Mum isn't entirely sure about the whole idea, but she don't know codswollop about c…

I am faced with a tough decision this christmas.
My dad has become strangely generous as of late, and I bundled up the courage to ask him if I could get a $1700 PC, which he replied after lots of endless subtle hinting, 'Yes'.
But then I realised, if I'm getting something worth $1700 bucks, maybe I should get a iMac instead. I mean, yeah I'd have to get the cheapest iMac, unless I can convince him into adding and extra $300 to the budget.
The only problems I'm having with this is software. Mo…

I completely agree with you Ben, and I'm not afraid to say I do tend to shy away from excercising. But there's an alternate way for geeks to excercise.
Geeks are know for our 'eccentricism', so I propose we get creative with our excercising. Instead of weight-lifting, find your old CRT monitor (or something of considerable weight) and hold it above your head.
Instead of running, setting up your laptop…

One more year of schooling, and then i can go off and study by myself!
TAFE will be so much easier that secondary school. The environment of it all makes you feel better, like you are actually learning. But still one more year to go.
I seriously cannot wait. I see these people getting all emotional and shit, and I realise why, but seriously, c'mon! You are leaving one of the biggest crap-holes in Australia, and I will be happy to eave the wretched place.
I'm finally beginning a Multimedia cla…

Yes I agree, it is a shit title for a blog but who gives a shit.
Recently, I've noticed that your sense of fashion attracts peoples attention, more so than people think. I'd go so far to say that clothing determines 75% of people stereotypical sceptisisms.
Being a kid who has always been able to adapt to survive in social situations, I payed more attention to people sens of style and matching stereotypical attitudes. I noticed that the popular kids always wore the clothes from Jay Jay's and Co…

That's right, halloween is over, and that means K-Mart, Aldi, Target, Big W and Wal-Mart (for all you Americans) are waiting to bombard you with christmas savings.
Seeing as I'm only 16, and still living at home, I still get crap bought for me. BUT the trick my parents try to pull on me is this; my birthday is on christman eve, so they try to pull the old 'joint present' crap. My not so recent joining of geeks, I've taken a liking to techy type things. Problem is that they are expensive, and th…

Okay, so two days ago, I was chatting on Chris' live feed, and I happened to come across two pretty cool who went by the names of DragonHeart and Donnie_Darko.
The topic came up that someone wanted to get rid of there old pc casing. Everyone's pyromanic set in and decided to burn it or explode it, but i decided to be me and said 'Make it pretty and sell it on ebay' and the subject of moding arose.
I sed he could send it to me and I'd make it pretty but I have no money and the postage costs fro…
