Mike Copeland Follow Friday on The Way Out?

For a while now Follow Friday has been a good way for people to recommend great people to follow on twitter. As a geek I use twitter for sharing information, and interest. One of the people I follow made the statement to me that "more followers isn't better, better followers is more". What I mean by better followers is that none of this spam crap, not someone who spews out senseless nonsense. I’ve used Follow Friday since June I believe, but with the introduction of Twitter Lists Follow F… Continue

Johannes S. Web version - 3.0 - what this means and how this works...

A couple of years ago, there was a lot of buzz about this "new" thing called Web 2.0. Well, actually, the web doesn't really have version numbers. "Web 1.0" was read-only. "Web 2.0" was "create, edit, discuss." And really, no-one really calls it Web 2.0 in 2009. It's now called something else. Not social media, that's a different thing. But if we'd go back to the version numbering... Well, what's 3.0 then and when's it coming? It's already here. It consists of unified content systems.… Continue

Langleyo How to get your web fonts sorted - and listen to some cool, fresh, NEW music too!!

Hi folks, Langleyo here again. Sorry i've not posted much, but I have been busy helping design a new website with one of my workmates. He's a musician, and he and his partner wanted some help with a website they were constructing. Problem was, the existing coding was a bit shaky, and the menu jumped about all over the place. But the HARDEST thing was getting the darned site to play ball with standard browser fonts! Of course my friend WOULD choose a font that just about NOBODY ELSE on… Continue

Computerwhiz1 Southern Fried Geeks Episode #7

In this episode of Southern Fried Geeks, there was a whole lot going on. In episode 7, we discussed the Microsoft-Yahoo deal. Yes, we know it's old news, but we haven't shot the show in so long! There was lots to talk about, such as Bing and Yahoo mail, which we both had mixed opinions about. Later, I(kung fu gamer) brought my waterproof camera onto the set to do a little dissection, which didn't go as planned as you'll see in the video. I sort of combined the dissection and destroying, but it w… Continue

Stephen New browser red-flags disputed facts on the web

James Keller The Canadian Press August 30, 2009 Editor’s note: Apparently multinational corporations and governments will decide what information on the internet is “questionable.” Developers of new web browsing software that flags questionable claims or outright lies on the web hope it will become a valuable tool to deal with the misinformation that litters the Internet.
