Sue Are we talking the same lingo? Watch the video!

Vexation creeps in when we are not able to understand what the other person says especially if its on an important matter. How mishaps and misunderstanding can occur just on a simple miscommunication. Then we start pulling our hair, gritting our teeth, clenching our fist. Body language and intonation is all part of communication but first things first. Contents of our message has to be correct when conveyed to another person. If that is settled, then comes the intonation and the body language.… Continue

Ashryne How Does Heat Effect Electronics?

I have always heard stories of heat damage to electronics. The day Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was released I waited in line for 13 hours in the scorching heat of the sun. I had left my NetBook in the hot car for the majority of the day, but around 2 PM I decided to pull it out of the car and stick it under an umbrella to try to get the heat off of it. Well, when it came time to use my NetBook to watch the Harry Potter films in line, it began to have issues playing the movies. After… Continue

Bret Spector Summer Plans

Ahh summer! It's right around the corner, if it's not already here. The weather sure is here. I live in Lubbock, Texas, which is in kinda North Texas. It's hot. Been hot. Going to stay hot. I love it. I live in Texas, so as you can image it's hot most of the year. That's what most people think, and it's true. I mean, there hasn't been any snow here for the past 4 years. I love it. Though I do love snow. Enough of that stupid weather talk. Onto summer plans. Summer vacation is defiantly popular… Continue

DedRyzing 3 Ways To Linux For The Weak Of Heart

Making the switch from Microsoft Windows or Apple’s OS X to Linux can be a daunting proposition for most people. There are a lot of negative myths, half truths and misinformation out there that scare many people off. Fortunately there are several ways to experiment with, and get to know, Linux that will not change your system as it is now. GranitW Mac OS X, Name or Version?

I've seen some interesting perspectives on the name, Mac OS X. I've also seen that people refer to it as if it has a large connection to the real Mac OS, like Mac OS 9. This has led many people to assume that Mac OS X is the same thing as Mac OS 10, or that Mac OS X 10.4 to Mac OS X 10.5 are just minor updates. Well the second one is easy to figure out, Apple, themselves, refer 10.X updates as majors version, not minor. Minor versions, or bug revisions are 10.X.x. It's a bit different th… Continue

GranitW Leopard vs Snow, What is Mac OS X 10.6?

I've noticed that people have questions about Snow Leopard, and have also come to some conclusion. For example, some people believe Apple is removing support of PowerPC based Macs in this up coming OS because Apple wants to focus more of their attention on Intel CPUs. This might be partly correct, but it's not the whole reason. I've also heard the rumors that Apple might open up Snow Leopard for more platforms. I myself might have helped those rumors, but it's all estimation (or what I hope App… Continue
