Mike Copeland Week of Stress

What a hectic week I’ve had, between getting ready for my dad’s visit and dodging some of the drama from my family it’s been a pain. My family on one side I try no to talk about because they are not what I would call moral. I love them but some of them I really am distancing myself from. Other than that my brothers are cool, and I love my sister. It was nice to see my dad, and hang out with him and my mom. We were everywhere while he was here, Tomball, Katy, Houston, and of course Pasadena. Kat… Continue

Sm3 Stress.

Small problems, amplified. I have a mild form of insomnia. My Insomnia seems to be triggered by mental stress over a period of time. In addition to that, I get "Tension Headaches" which basically means any stress on my body can cause me to have a headache. So... whenever I have stress, I get tension headaches, which after time, can cause me to become insomniatic. Mental Stress and Bodily stress is a little different. Mental stress takes a while for me to get tension headaches, and even longer… Continue

DogReader Dogs for Exam Stress

Pets, like dogs, help to lower stress and to lower blood pressure. The University of Wisconsin is trying to use this concept for their students' advantage: "The University of Wisconsin-Madison campus said dogs are being brought to the school to help ease the stress of students preparing for final exams." link: School employs dogs to ease finals stress So, at the University… Continue

Kayla Teets Are you a student and in need of financial aid?

Going to high school was easy. You could depend on your parents for everything. Their taxes went for the cost of public school, school buses, lunches... the works. Every year they'd pay into those funds so that we could all get a "free" education. They would give you lunch money so that you could hit up the unhealthy foods in the a la carte menu and you could skip class and not really feel bad about it. College however... is something totally different. This is going to be centered towards stud… Continue

Travicemo Releaved

Well the past 2 weeks of my life have been nothing but school, school, school and more school. If you didn't read my recent blog post about the huge mistake I made by not doing my online class like I was supposed to in order to meet my high school graduation requirements let me fill you in first. I am a senior and I had four classes this year at school and two classes that I was making up online here at home. Now the first online class that I completed, I did it way back in September of last y… Continue

Cowhelmet iMusic: Does it work?

So has anyone tried this product yet? http://www.vth.biz/secure/system/xcart/product.php?productid=16147 The idea is that it "infuses music (of any genre) with formulaic beats, digital modulations, soundscape modifications and brain piquing characteristics giving the soundtrack robust brainwave guidance capabilities. Listening to iMusic channels acoustical stimulants through the ear and into the sensory cortex, leaving repeated and distinct imprints on the brain; creating what is called a cor… Continue

Toby Bad Economy Affects Kids Too!

Well as the economy goes down many are losing jobs. I am a 15 year old looking for a job and I get turned down because they are losing money. I looked up in Colorado laws and it says a 15 year old can work at a job as long as a parent signs on it. Now that its harder to get a job I am stuck finding ways online to make money. I work in HTML, PHP, MySQL, Many forms of coding a website and I am thinking about charging people for a website that I will make. But I am not a expert in those fields.....… Continue

jenn I need my happy place!

Ever feel a bit under pressure? like stress is just bearing down from every angle and degree.... The economy is funky right now (we all know that). I've been job-less now for a period of 3 months and am now just finally back on the market, working for part time minimum wage at a department store. I used to have a career. Newly enrolled as a full time student at a nearby college I must commute to daily, the oldest freshmen in my class though I must admit I'm in the traditional program not the ad… Continue

ilan amit Why can't my husband sleep at night?

At this moment in time there is such financial instability in the world. Banks are collapsing, stocks are dropping dramatically, and some of us have lost as much of 50% of our investments. Perhaps my husband is not sure if his job is safe? I wake up and the bed is empty and his side cold. No mater what age you are, what you are doing, or how successful you are, most of us have always got something going on that may fill our attention: small or big problems, some uncertainty causing fear, worry… Continue

Bits Byte Simply put, Let It Be!

One lesson that I've taken from The Beatles through simply listening to their music is that sometimes you need to just sit back and "Let It Be!" While it may feel wrong at first, some situations are not worth the stress that they induce if you persist. This lesson has saved me from being a nervous, stick-up-the-ass asshole. I used to persist at even the tiniest little problems until they drove everybody including me mad. When you sit back and just let yourself mellow out you can think so much cl… Continue
