For a while now Follow Friday has been a good way for people to recommend great people to follow on twitter. As a geek I use twitter for sharing information, and interest. One of the people I follow made the statement to me that "more followers isn't better, better followers is more". What I mean by better followers is that none of this spam crap, not someone who spews out senseless nonsense. I’ve used Follow Friday since June I believe, but with the introduction of Twitter Lists Follow F… Continue
I like many other Geeks, am on multiple social sites. Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, and FriendFeed are just a few examples of this. I previously that I use Ping.fm to ping my status to all my social sites, however I recently changed this when TweetDeck v0.30.5 was released. It added support for Myspace and it’s moods. To be honest I prefer this do to the fact that now I don’t have to keep logging into Ping.fm’s website.
I guess you could say that I find this version of TweetDec… Continue

I am rebuilding my site soon and for a fairly simple reason:
I haven't had enough cash to pay my hosting bill and my data will be lost on the 30th if not paid before(if anyone would care to help with that, there's a donation link on my profile)
So, I have two questions:
What software I should use for a content-management and blog system with easy theme and plugin support? I used wordpress until now and lov… Continue
Although HTML is not technically a programming language, I have filed it under the programming section, because it shares a lot of similarities with programming languages. So, are there any web-masters out there who are absolutely HTML crazy? Do you use HTML? Do you like it? What improvements do you think could be made? I want your opinions, and your opinions only... It’s the final day of June which means today I stop blogging on Blogger and Wordpress. I recently changed www.mikecopeland.squarespace.com to www.tecnicle.com. Of course this means I also shut down my Webs account, I’m very excited about this, and I can’t wait to actually have more time to work on the site. Right now though I’m in the middle of packing things up for my move, and am trying to keep up to date with everything all at the same time. In fact as I type this I’m preparing to put boxes t… Continue

That is a very good question, I know from experience that without communication relationships don’t work. Not just with couples, but with friends also. Without communication it’s pretty easy to grow apart, and sometimes we don’t know it, but it is possible to get so lost in technology that you cut yourself off from the real world.
I recently read an article in the USAToday that expressed concerns about this very thing. The article was talking about how family time is dwindling in homes with int… Continue
I am a member of many social sites, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, just to name a few. It’s tiring going from site to site changing my status, so I use Ping.fm to ping all my status from one location. However up until recently the only way I could do it mobile was by going to i.ping.fm for my iPod Touch, and that wasn’t bad but I wanted an app for it.
Then I found Pingle, an app in the app store for the iPod Touch and iPhone. I’m sure by the name you can tell it’s for Ping.fm, a… Continue
There are people who think that it’s crazy to tweet where you’re going, and where you’re at. My mom and her husband are some examples of people who think that way. I post everything from Ping.fm and so it goes to Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Tumblr, and ultimately ends up posted on friendfeed. I have my reasons for doing this.
One I don’t want anyone every accusing me of doing something, or being somewhere that I’m not. Another is I like friends and family to have an idea of where I am so if som… Continue

hate spam just as well as I hate hackers. Over the past few weeks that I have been running SocialShout, I have had some spammers that have come in to try to cause chaos but I handled it quite well and deleted their accounts hoping that they wouldn’t come back. Earlier today as I normally do, I checked my email, and guess what I found…The user that I had deleted resigned up for an account with the same username. I quickly gathered up all of the info that I could get on the spammer, and I banned h… Continue

So you lost your job that you have had for years. You haven't done the job search thing since before you got married and started a family. Now your oldest child is 13. Looking for a job has changed since you were last actively searching, but that doesn't mean that you should worry. In fact searching for a job has never been easier.
You no longer need to put on your best suit and leave your house to go out hunting. You only need a computer and internet access. There are many popular sites on the… Continue
I just don’t understand why our parents can’t move forward. What I mean by this, is that they never want to upgrade the specs on their computers and they just can’t keep up with new software. Many times, the “Geek of the house” usually has the most powerful computer(s) and they get angry because their parents tell them “My computer is too slow!”
Steps to end the anger:
Add RAM. Many times, computers tend to run slower if they don’t have enough RAM. This is because the RAM is used to store info… Continue
