Many geeks find that the world is out of focus. The world doesn't make sense. Then we get our first pair of glasses and everything shoots into focus again.
Having experienced problems with my own spectacles, or glasses as they are commonly known, has gotten me thinking that there might be a way to tweak my PC monitor to offset my myopia (shortsightedness). If it worked, there would also surely be a way to help people with hyperopia (longsightedness).
I'm not sure how you'd do it though. The pi… Continue
Ok, so I'm gonna get right to the point. I have a website, and theres some stuff that I don't know how to do. Like, BIG stuff on the homepage, like pictures, the picture in the header, and getting it so that i can post things specifically in a child catagory of my choice. and i need help. So, I'm prepared to have a phone conference with someone that's willing to help me, plus give them the administrative password and username so you can do it directly. And if you can put everything the way i wan… Continue

one of the biggest factors for to swap to a mac (apart from costs) is the on going crusade against my laptop/pc slowing down over time. I never understood why this used to happen and was always reluctant to try new programs or new software for fear of slowing things down even if i have completely removed something there is always a nagging suspicion that something has been left behind. Anyway I have tried reg fix programs in the past with varied results, even losing personal data on once occasio… Continue

Hey there, i know theres quite a few blog posts out there about whether to get mac or pc, ive had pc's all my life and only ever used macs at school. but at schools they limit what you can do on it so i never got to experience the true mac experience.
My DV9700 laptop recently went through the big NVIDIA GPU chip problem widely spread but not properly compensated for, so far ive had to pay $600 (NZD) to get the mainboard replaced and its failed twice since then, luckily replaced for free each t… Continue
This is for all you pc gamers out there, well there is a rummor floating around the internet that modern warfare 2 for pc will be 2 weeks late. People think its due to piracy or the fact that people wont be able to wait and they will buy it on there xbox 360. Just a way to make more money before the pirates torrent it and by the way i have actually preordered it so i wont be torrenting same with windows 7. I think activison are forgetting that they started on the pc platform and with out are com… Continue
Hey guys. I have an old Windows 98 PC lying around and I was wondering if there was any way you guys could help me get internet on it.
When the guy from Comcast came out to setup the Modem and DVR's, he told us that Comcast Internet would not work on it. So we went out and bought a new PC with Vista on it.
I was hoping I could get the internet to work... there isn't even an ethernet port anywhere on it. Yes, I do have a wireless connection, but it's close enough to the router *currently* to ho… Continue
What is happening on Oct. 22, 2009?
Well if the title doesn’t answer it then I don’t know what to tell you, it’s the release of Windows 7. The successor to Windows Vista, what 7 promises to bring to the table is faster loading time, new codec support, new taskbar, and reliability. It’s everything Windows Vista wasn’t and in many was is what Vista should have been. Now Vista was not an Epic Fail, like Windows ME, but more of a smudge between Windows XP and Windows 7.

From what I can tell, this is everyone's favourite subject. It must be; it's on every single page I look at!
So here's what we can draw from the forums so far:
"Better PC": 778
"Better MAC": 930
"Better Windows": 1241
"Better osx"+
"Better os x"+
"Better mac os": 686
So there: we love the Mac hardware but the software sucks. Ooerr...that can't be right...err...we love Windows when it runs on the Mac?
So maybe I've just wasted 10 minutes of my time drawing no conclusion at all. So can't we jus… Continue
I think Onlive is going to be a great service I love to play games, but I also love physical media being able to touch something and look at it. This is why I would rather have a physical disk, rather than to have digital content. I also feel this way about steam and other downloadable game
services, but the reason that I have an open mind about Onlive is because it is streaming media.
I'm already signed up for the beta program and would love to own it if it is cheap enough. I own a PlayStation… Continue

A keylogger is a program that logs all the keystrokes that are typed on a computer. Perfect Keylogger can be used on PCs and Apple computers. It can capture passwords, chats, internet history, screenshots, etc... Additionally, it is able to send the logs to any E-mail or FTP address.
Think of the opportunities when using this kind of program; imagine playing a prank on your ex and capturing her/his password and all her/his chats. If you are a parent; surveying
Novice and new computer users are disheartened by technology due to the flaws and problems plaguing Microsoft Windows. This leads them to thinking computers are terribly complicated and don't bother using them.
There are major differences between using a PC and a Mac. One vital factor is price. Macs are very expensive so people don't tend to think it is 'worth' it, so they buy a cheap PC instead. Great, what a bargain!
For £300 they got say for example, a 15" 2Ghz Intel Core Duo with an Intel… Continue
Is Linux Ready For Prime Time?I my 40 some years I have witnessed and used many PC operating systems. Some of these have been from almost the beginning of time (computing) itself (man am I old). I have used almost all OS flavors at one time or another since the start of the PC revolution. My son, now 15, often wonders how we could survive without a computer as he has never know life without one. In any case most of the o… Continue
I have gotten a USB logitech mouse for xmas. Well about a week ago things started getting funny. The mouse was skipping in and out of moving. Then it went dead, like dead. So as usual with any mouse i pulled out my AA batteries like any normal guy would. I put them in and turned it on and plugged the wireless reciever in. But it came up in Windows " USB Device Not Recignized" It has not worked since. They only way to get it to work if to apply lots of pressure to the wireless box. I am unsure ho… Continue

Microsoft runs their “laptop hunter” ads. Apple changes prices and informs Microsoft their advertising is false. Microsoft changes their ads accordingly. The operating system war rages on.
Here I am, still asking: “why?”
I am very much aware I have written a previous post about t… Continue

Dad wanted to get a few pictures off his phone onto a laptop. Sounds simple.
Let's just go through what I did to make this happen, shall we?
The laptop has no bluetooth.
Luckily, sis has a dongle
But the laptop won't support it
So I'll use the dongle on my main PC
How the heck do I select all with this Ericsson interface? Oh, there it is - mark all, send via bluetooth
Turn off bluetooth security for the 5 odd minutes to get the pictures over.
Ok, got the pictures on my m… Continue
