Jacob Iphone V.S. the Androids Channeling the Mac V.S. PC War

All i have been hearing lately is how the iphone has severe problems and apple is not addressing them. Usually following this "rant", i hear something about an Android Operating System based Phone. How people love the phone, how its so easy to use, how there are so many applications for it. While those claims may or may not be true they seem a lot like the Mac v.s. PC wars claims. The mass use of the Android operating system on several different devices make it just like the "windows" of… Continue

Anonymous The Palm Pre

I went to the store the other day, and I played with the demo model of the Palm Pre. I liked it, I liked the interface, contacts, touchscreen, web browsing, and a lot more. The internet was perfect, and I might go as far to say is one of the best devices on Sprint for internet. However, I would like to create some programs for it. I have a limited coding background (a bit of C++ and HTML). I'm mostly into using software handle the nuts and bolts while I create content. I was wondering if anyone… Continue

Jamie Luca iPhone apps to Windows Mobile

I got the MSDN newsletter on the 17th August and saw a topic called "Ready to port your iPhone app to Windows Mobile?". I'm curious to see how many developers will actually be doing this because as far as I know, developing for the iPhone seems a much better idea since you can get your app easily out there using the App Store. I'd like to see how many iPhone developers will be porting their app to Windows Mobile devices. What do you guys think of this?… Continue

Travicemo How to email text messages to any mobile phone

Well this is pretty amazing especially for those of you who don't have unlimited data and text plans with your service. This lets you send any mobile numbers text messages and the recipient will get them on their mobile just like any other text message and they can also reply back to you. I personally tested this out and it worked like a charm, so if you do enjoy using it your welcome. Step 1: Start up your email app or web browser and go to your email service and compose a new message… Continue

James Hill Mobile Gaming, will it replace desktop gaming?

You know how PC gaming is one of my favorite hobbies? Yeah, well I am looking into mobile PC gaming. Just recently one of my mates bought an Acer Gemstone Gaming Laptop for $1600AUD and I am quite impressed. Of course the graphics aren't up to scratch with a $1600 gaming desktop but they will do for a spot of gaming here and there don't you think? Of course Mobile Gaming will never replace desktop gaming. Compacting all those enthusiast grade gaming components into a tiny chassis with limited a… Continue

Emmerich Mobile Communications: Eliminating The Need To Be Anywhere In Particular

I recently participated in a class discussion for school. The discussion was on where technology would be 10 years from now and how we would access the Internet. In my humble opinion, the real advances will be in mobile technology. There's a real need to get out of the house or office whenever possible, and Silicon Valley has been very aware of this for some time. Laptops and cellphones have been around for a long time. The problem with these devices is that they are either too cumbersome and b… Continue

Zach Kowalchuk Mobile Devices.

Almost everyone has or should have one. Whether its a portable videogame device, an MP3 player or a cellphone. Netbook's and notebook's would more than likely fall into this class as well.I rarely go anywhere with my laptop because I'd rather not carry around a 17" laptop with me everywhere. But what does go with me on a daily basis is my iPod Nano and my cellphone which is an LG Vantage(Glimmer in the US). I've had a cellphone for almost 4 years now, since I was in the sixth grade. I just feel… Continue

Tedd G1 vs iPhone

Because I have worked for both ATT and T-Mobile, I think I have a rather unique perspective on the differences between the G1 and the iPhone. I thought I would share my thoughts with you about these two devices. First, let's look at the hardware differences... Hardware Specs G1 vs iPhone: Weight: G1 = 158g vs iPhone = 133g Battery Life: G1 = 5 hours talk time, 130 hours standby vs iPhone = 5 hours talk time, 300 hours standby Screen Size: G1 = 3.2inches vs iPhone = 3.5in Camera: G1… Continue

Garry Conn How Many Old Cell Phones Do You Have Around Your House?

I was cleaning out one of my junk drawers today (trying to make it NOT a junk drawer) and I dug out four old cell phones that ranged from mid 90's up to early 2000's. I have to say that mobile phones sure have come a long way. How many old cell phones do you have around your house collecting dust? Continue

Garry Conn How Often Do You Use Your Mobile Phone For Blogging?

Not sure how many WordPress blogging geeks we have here, but I am a full time blogger and online publisher. I use WordPress for just about every site I own. I use WordPress both as a blogging platform as well as a CMS. With that said, I have a Blackberry and this little phone sure is capable. Using my mobile phone coupled with the Mobile WordPress Dashboard plugin, I can literally operate and maintain my blog using my mobile phone. I can write posts, moderate and reply to comments, and more. As… Continue

lizmoney LG's Renoir: Hey, There's a Phone in this Camera- Dooope!

LG RenoirLG brings it to this year's CES with the Renoir. It's a phone packed with a serious camera. The specs are the real deal, not just a cam-afterthought like on most phones: 8 megapixel image sensor, Schneider-Kreuznach optics, xenon flash (a flash! woot!), 120fps video recording, image stabilization, auto-focus, and many shooting modes that can pick up smiles, eye-blinks,… Continue

lizmoney Palm Brings it with the Announcement of the Palm Pre at CES 2009

The buzz is well deserved. Touted as the biggest mobile announcement at CES, Palm officially announces their new phone today. They were very tight-lipped about development up until now, with very very minor product leak, but we were able to find the scoop early, and were waiting with baited breath for the announcement. Wanna see it? Here are the deets: The announcement started with ex-Apple cum Palm Executive Chairman Jon Rubenstein. How did he come to Palm? In Mexico, of course. Palm CEO Ed Co… Continue
