I'm glad that the one computer I have running Windows 7 is using the release candidate version. Why? Because, I wouldn't pay for an operating system that is obviously still in beta testing.
I was in the electronics section at Wal-Mart last night looking for gift ideas when I happened upon the only laptop that was powered up. It was running the all-new, shiny, latest and greatest Microsoft OS - Windows 7. In front of God and everyone, I simply clicked the "start" menu and waited... and waited...…

Any one who has a job knows that they have a responsibility to be professional while at your job. We also have things that we hold to be our laws of life, things that dictate our actions, but what about when your work and your morals conflict.
Picture this, your workings as a car repair guy. A guy brings you his car telling you he purchased it from some random guy, and that the car was in bad condition. Lets say the car needs a stereo repair or something. While repairing the car you find out it…

I've somehow decided that I want to get ArchLinux on my laptop. XD
I Dont know how I come up with this stuff, but I've never had a text based installer before. Doesn't look too difficult.
Any Suggestions, Tips, Ect.
I want to try to put ArchLinux On my home computer, but am debating. Since Games Like warcraft and Starcraft 2 are not made for linux, I am having trouble deciding weather I should try it or not. I'd hate for Starcraft 2 to get shipped to me and for me to install it and for it to…

WOOT! I'm over achieving. I am installing Mandriva on my laptop, a distro of linux. Anyone know any REALLY COOL Linux Distro's?
Any recommendations for someone just putting their toes into the Linux pool?
I've tried Ubuntu and loved it, I just want to keep trying different stuff before I settle on it. Waiting for uTorrent to finish downloading the ISO.

one of the biggest factors for to swap to a mac (apart from costs) is the on going crusade against my laptop/pc slowing down over time. I never understood why this used to happen and was always reluctant to try new programs or new software for fear of slowing things down even if i have completely removed something there is always a nagging suspicion that something has been left behind. Anyway I have tried reg fix programs in the past with varied results, even losing personal data on once occasio…

Coming up on two weeks ago, my Windows laptop died and I decided to purchase a MacBook. Since then, I no longer have any Window’s computers in my house. I have been using a Mac as my primary OS since June of 2008 and have loved it. This is the second Mac I have every owned and it runs better than any other laptop I have ever owned. The laptop is fast, reliable, and actually works for me. Now, as some of you may know, a few days ago Apple introduced the new MacBook. Since I bought the MacBook at…

I will come back to youtube! I hope that some of you are happy about this and I hope that you are glad. I would like to mention though what I am going to do with it. I am going to only be posting video blogs there and I want to clarify that. I will be able to do that instant upload thing because I think think is great for video blogs. I will keep my real content here. I have not been able to make that account and i don't have the time to film a vid to let you know. But this is proof that I will…

My laptop runs hot. So hot in fact, it earned the nickname "Hotplate". So overheating has always been a problem when running cpu-intensive or graphics-intensive tasks.
So what's the solution? A Notebook "Chillpad".
I Previously owned a "Targus Chillpad", but after a few weeks the fans became imbalanced and noisy. after a couple months one of the two fans broke. Time to buy a new one! (This time not a cheap one!)
After a bit of searching and forum digging I came across a NZXT Cryo LX…

So some people have been wondering what do I use to record my computer screen, well,it's not a camera, it;s a free program called, camstudio, here's the link, however theres a few things that I have to discuss about this.
http://camstudio.org/
this is free, however it isnt the best quality, so the way I personally fix it, is with Sony Vegas Pro 8, which isnt a free program, but if your doing just basic captures, it should look fine.
Another thing about tech stuff, is how do I hook up my lapto…

I have gotten a USB logitech mouse for xmas. Well about a week ago things started getting funny. The mouse was skipping in and out of moving. Then it went dead, like dead. So as usual with any mouse i pulled out my AA batteries like any normal guy would. I put them in and turned it on and plugged the wireless reciever in. But it came up in Windows " USB Device Not Recignized" It has not worked since. They only way to get it to work if to apply lots of pressure to the wireless box. I am unsure ho…

With my 18th Birthday just 2 weeks away, I was really excited as I think I could have gotten an iMac or Macbook.
But I was very shocked when my mum said no, this of course made me feel very sad.
I was wondering if it's possible to get a Mac Mini within the £100 - £200 range, as I think the mac mini would be great as a starting point.
Anyone have any ideas?
