If I be waspish, best beware my sting!
If I be fat and lazy, best beware my 'poots' !
My two year old is telling the latter line to nearly everone she meets. Watch out what you tell your kids, folks. Continue

I overheard someone saying this the other day and it really struck a nerve with me. Everyone says it, don't they? I, myself, do not have kids and I don't understand this statement. I often feel very sad for the person who says it.
The thing that bothers me most is that what is expected of their children is that, among other things, they will grow up, get married, and have kids of their own. And before you know it, guess what those kids are going to be saying? "I have to sacrifice everything so… Continue
This story is dedicated to Hunter and Gary. Titan is the superhero from my book, "Myst, Titan and the Outcasts". You can read more about that on my profile.
Two boys were walking down the street, heading towards the video game store, which was only a few blocks away from their apartment complex. It was early August, school was out, and the boys had nothing else to do than play video games, go to the shopping mall, or watch TV.
As they were crossing the street, they heard a police siren. Both… Continue

My little brother told me about this dance called the Jerk. Apparently, it looks like some simple dance that anyone can perform. Not as difficult as the Soulja boy, but it just doesn't seem like this is going to catch on. Soulja Boy was a fad, and this one will be gone soon.
Thursday, We get to cram 7 people in a glorified, oversized tin can on wheels for 17 hours. 5 of which, have bladders the size of Mini Altoids tins.
Tomorrow, our normal shopping day will not include our usual stock. Instead, it'll be just enough meals to supplement whatever food is left in the fridge, snacks for the trip and lots of traveling games, including (but not limited to) new Leapster cartridges, Public domain books for the mp3 players, mini-free game… Continue

Finally, I posted a video on YouTube. In spite of the fact that my camera's battery only lasts 3 minutes. I'm thinking of getting a new camera, but not before some things get paid off first. Or maybe I'll win the lotto - even though I never buy a ticket.
But until then, we will be trying to save money. Which means no more cool toys.
I've uploaded the video to Geeks, but just in case someone doesn't want to click on the link above or to l… Continue

Christmas Day is just tomorrow! But I have been thinking… do parents spoil their kids? Does it affect their personality? Well in my Opinion i think, yes parents do spoil their kids at Christmas. You might not believe me or disagree with me but this is my OPINION. So I have seen many gifts from Kindergarteners - about 4th grade have iPod Touches!! Do they even know how to use them! Some of the same kids have also gotten a Wii, a 360 and a PS3 all in one Christmas! I am telling the truth. Now, I d… Continue

I used to love listening to the radio on Christmas Eve because they always tracked Santa. They would give locations and the progress of Santa and how close he was to your city and it added to the magic of the night. My son is 4 years old, my daughter just turned 2 and because I am always online I did a search for the Santa Tracker for Christmas Eve. Sure enough NORAD has something there for my kids and I online.
Take a look at some of the video they put t… Continue

I could ask for toys, and I could ask for games. But the only thing I want this year is to see my kids again.
I miss them so much, I can barely describe. Please just give me a chance to work for you - So I can spend some precious time... I miss them so much I cry, every day and every night. The things that I am missing, drives crazy... Their drawings should be on my fridge, for me to admire. When they have a bad dream at night it's my bed they should crawl into so I can rock them back to sleep.… Continue

Another great forward...
To All The Kids Who Survived The 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, and Early-ish 80's!!
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us.
They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.
Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had… Continue
(Yes, I know that it is supposed to be "The crazy things kids do..." but it was late at night when I posted it and then it went out into the Lockergnome e-newsletter so I can't change the title lest it will break the link.)
I never have broken any bones but I had some crazy things happened to me when I was growing up.

Well as the economy goes down many are losing jobs. I am a 15 year old looking for a job and I get turned down because they are losing money. I looked up in Colorado laws and it says a 15 year old can work at a job as long as a parent signs on it. Now that its harder to get a job I am stuck finding ways online to make money. I work in HTML, PHP, MySQL, Many forms of coding a website and I am thinking about charging people for a website that I will make. But I am not a expert in those fields.....… Continue

A stomach virus made it's way through my family the last three weeks. Kind of why I've been absent. Having five kids means that it takes longer before a virus makes it's rounds.
Fortunately, I saw it as a stomach bug and promptly gave the remaining un-sick kids some probiotics. Only two were really, really sick. The rest of us suffered some mild fevers and some stomach cramping. Not to bad - well, for the rest of us.
Nathan, my oldest got pretty sick. As a matter of fact, on voting day, I was… Continue

I like to swear. I have been told at various times in my life that I swear like a sailor, or more than an entire football team combined. These things may be true. I do, in fact, swear a lot. While I was in college, I had an adorable friend who was part of the "Christian crew". She was a bible study freak, timid and mild, and hardly ever uttered any word more vile than "crap". Actually, when most people swore she found it offensive, but not me. She always said that I made swearing sort of an art… Continue
We took Ganon to the doctor this afternoon. A whole week of puking & diarrhea is a bit much for anyone to handle, so we decided to err on the side of caution. Err it was, because all the doctor could tell us is to try and keep him hydrated and to wait it all out. At least he's not very sick, according to Dr. Johnson. The doctor said he was "reassured" by Ganon's behavior, which in this case meant very happy & playful until someone tried to use an otoscope or a tongue depressor on him, an… Continue

I am not a Big Fan of Kids getting on the Internet, Because you never know who is out there and what these Kids are willing to do! I know if I was younger I would have been a little Devil on the Internet and I am so Glad I did not really get going on the Internet till I was 19! I was already Sexually active at a very Young Age and the Internet would have made it even worse for me, because I was so Eager to fit in!
Now that I have Grown Up and Realized the reality of Life, is not what you always… Continue
