Gregory Birch DDS VIA coffee at Starbucks AKA locked and loaded....

My favorite #Gnomedex schwag item this year was the new VIA Starbucks mug.

There is something cathartic about loading the mug with six coffee packets, and being ready for a hike, or work. It sort of feels like I’m loading a weapon. Having six cups of coffee on hand makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, I don't k… Continue

Adam BeejiveIM

If you are like me and you have multiple IM accounts, you would like to have a client that can handle all of them at once. I have done reviews on multiple great IM clients in the past, but BeejiveIM is an awesome app you can get for the iPhone. This app is $9.99 in the app store but is definitely worth the money, if not more. It has some really great features and can support IM accounts such as AIM, MSN, GTalk, Jabber, and a few more. The UI of the app is fantastic and the chat windows kind of r… Continue

Thomas Herrold Video Chat - Comparison of AIM and Skype

Many people find a convenient way to communicate with their friends and family is to video chat via a messaging program such as AIM or Skype. The younger generation of today, for the most part, has become accustomed AIM, and have stuck to simply typing back and forth. I personally feel that when you go beyond mere text and utilize the audio and video features of the two applications, you can get more out of your chatting experience. I have used both AIM and Skype, and there are ups and downs to… Continue

Kyle Weaver iPhone AIM app review (paid)

Today, I will review the iPhone AIM app. Features- 2.0 Design- 4.5 Does it work- 2.1 I recently bought the AIM application from the App store for the iPhone at the price of 2.99. Was it worth it? No. Not at all. All you are getting with this application is a purple icon, and no adds. (which i could care less about) But, there are many pluses to this application like changing your icon with one touch of the screen. Some features: PUSH Notifications; This feature is one of the best and m… Continue

James Hill Instant messaging software: The most simplest yet effective client.

Pidgin has been reviewed on my blog/website. I chose to review it because I am sick of logging into a client that is not stable and I am forever facing the "Live today" page. Pidgin is simple and does the job for all you IM buffs out there... including myself. Here is the review. Continue

Theoren Morris Adium: My Thoughts

Are any of you using messenger: mac or some other butchered desktop IM client, if so then your missing out on a great free IM client that works with many different services. I use it and I'm sure that many other Mac users do so to. The program is called Adium. When I first used it I did not like it one bit, but after using messenger: mac for another month I saw that the program was very flawed and did not respond well to what I wanted it to do. After hearing a nameless YouTube personality endors… Continue

Kinkajou Meebo Notifier, now in version 0.92 Beta

So I logged into Meebo today and I am greeted by their blog, they have released Meebo Notifier to the general public now apparently, even though it still has Beta in the version number. I've been using Meebo Notifier on and off for over a month, probably close to two months now. Granted I haven't used it constantly, but I did use it enough to know these things: It works, looks good, light on system resources (and… Continue

DigitalMan Pidgin

No matter what protocol, no matter what client, we all use some type of instant messaging. Some use services like AIM and MSN (Windows Live) while others use protocol like XMPP or IRC. What if I told you that there is a client that supports all of these protocols and more? What if I told you that there was a client that supportat multiple accounts, plugins, customization, and much more? Well, I most certainly wouldn't be crazy, because it exists! Pidgin Instant messenger, available at… Continue

Jon Sheline Wow...My First Press Release!

I hope no one thinks I'm just using this blog to blog about my other blog, since this is two posts in a row about just that. It's just that I'm moderately excited because I received a press release out of the blue today. I say moderately because the fact that I've never gotten one before is tempered by the fact that press releases are not exactly an endangered species. Apparently, a marketing intern at imo.im (online IM client) saw my recent post about Digsby and sent me the release. I figure th… Continue
