Chrome OS... Is Stateless the way to go?

So, I just saw this little intro video Google has about it's new Chrome OS. What caught my attention was what was said towards the end of the video. Chrome OS is basically designed to be a "stateless" OS. This basically means that the OS will not exist "on your computer" , but rather, be loaded on boot from a remote location. Google Apps

For all of my domains, instead of setting up a mail server on all of my servers, I use Google Apps instead. Google apps is like having your own Google account, except for your domain. The main feature I use is Email, but there is also Docs, Chat, Mobile, and much more.
